It's the annual Ho Ho Ho Read-A-Thon and I'm neck deep in Christmas stories. Currently, I'm reading a romance, "The Heart of Christmas", by Brenda Novak. The quote is from 56%  in the eGalley.

Gangs had never been part of his privileged existence-other than what he saw on the news reports on TV-and he resented that Rex hadn't led the same kind of uncomplicated, pristine life.

Doesn't exactly match the cover does it? The whole book has been different from what I expected, still not sure if I actually like it.

Cat Thursday - I'm Ready For My Close Up!

You can join in by posting a favorite LOL cat pic you made or came across, cat art or share with us pics of your own felines, then post your link up at The True Book Addict.

Goof was in my lap and practically in my face when I took this pic.

Charlotte hopes to recover from another breakup with her fiancé, and her friend Jane, a new mystery writer, is looking forward to somewhere relaxing. But life has different plans for the two friends and they find themselves swept up in a whirlwind of romance, mystery and murder.

Sparks fly between Jane and Charlotte’s attractive, Machiavellian cousin, Kenny. But is the attraction too good to be true or just a diversion from a mystery that has piqued her interest? Charlotte is pulled along on this roller-coaster of emotion when she meets up with her first love, as she and Jane discover links between a murder that happened twelve years earlier and a recent crime. Risking their lives and hearts, the friends race against the past in an effort to solve the crimes before one of them becomes the next victim.

A Month of Giving Thanks: Day Six

Berl at Fantasy Is More Fun and Michelle at Because Reading Is Better Than Real Life are hosting a month long blog event for giving thanks. The idea is to blog about people, things, or events that we are thankful for. I probably won't post every day; I'm aiming instead for a few times a week.

If you want to participate, you still can; just click on one of the links above. You can post every day, once a week, several times a week, whatever schedule works for you. There will be a linky post every day at the to host blogs so you can link up your post.

Harlequin Christmas Bundle Giveaway

I know it's early November, but I have Christmas on the brain. Today is the beginning of the Ho Ho Ho Read-A-Thon, hosted by the Caffeinated Reviewer and The Book Shelfery so I'll be neck deep in Christmas stories for the next five days. So since I'm in the holiday mood, I thought presents might be nice. Though, the presents are not from me, but from Harlequin Romance. Three of the books in the prize pack are in my pile for the read-a-thon and you can expect to see reviews of them over the next month and a half.
