Last week I felt like I was treading water, between working full-time at the day job and a lot of freelance work. I worked, I slept, I worked, I slept. But it was a good week at school, and the weather was sunny and warm but not hot. Goof has been ever more creative about getting into the trash. I need to put a baby latch on the cabinet in the kitchen and keep him out. The brat.

Odd, interesting, or funny search phrases leading to the blog: Several relating to the TV show "Wayward Pines" based on the book "The Last Town"- "the last town blake crouch spoiler finale" and "who dies in the last town blake crouch". A new one was "kiss post sexy" :D

Thanks
for visiting and happy reading! :)
Your cat gets in the trash? Maybe he's an alley cat at heart. ;) Hope next week is better!
ReplyDeleteCats! It's amazing how they can open doors... there's been a stray cat hanging around here, and it's been entertaining to watch my cats patrolling the windows. :) Sounds like Honeychurch Hall wasn't quite as good as the first one, I've been curious about those.
ReplyDeleteHope this week is a little more relaxed for you.
In the trash ? Ours usually prefer trying to get onto the table and into our plates ;) Or they wait, royally sitting somewhere in the middle of the way, waiting for us to attend their every need. Have a more resting week, I hope !
ReplyDeleteI still have yet to read a Kelly Armstrong book. It hasn't been on purpose. It's just that none of her books have ended up in my possession somehow. *shrugs* Have a great week!

Nice haul of books this week. I must say the Laura K. Curtis book looks interesting. I can't believe that your cat does that. Hopefully the latch will work.

Deceptions caught my eye...adding it to my wish list! Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
ReplyDeleteI have the first in that particular Armstrong series and for some reason haven't been in the mood to read it yet. I will keep it in mind. Honeychurch Hall....had debated picking up the first a while back but now I think I will just start another cozy mystery series instead since this doesn't sound like my type.
ReplyDeleteMy cats are masters at exploring everything. I have just resigned myself to the fact that they can pop up anywhere and get into anything, having had cats since the day I was born :)
Thanks for the soapy post yesterday; I enjoy hearing about other folks' hobbies and this one is close to my heart. Have a great week at work and home. Don't forget those "me moments", for yourself!
Deceptions looks good, I hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteHeather @ Random Redheaded Ramblings
I've not heard of any of these but I do hope that you enjoy them all./

Cats are amazing, Mine use to open the treat cabinet and get stuff out for the dog. She stopped that now thanks goodness but what a pain she was :)
ReplyDeleteYou sound like you are super busy and I know how you feel. I hope things get a little lighter for you soon!
Have a great week Bea!
Cats are ingenious. Hope your work life eases a bit so that you have more reading and relaxing time.
ReplyDeleteGaming the system sounds good. Hope you have a great weekend and happy reading.
ReplyDeleteCat in the trash, eh? Good thing it's possible to do something about that!
ReplyDeleteWhen does the summer vacation start for you? With the heat and these past two weeks of exams, I'm quite happy there are no more classes here, only administrative stuff and giving back tests to students.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.

ReplyDeleteWorking and sleeping are good routines, though exhausting, there's some comfort in knowing that's going to happen.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new babies, Bea!

Cats are so smart. And sneaky! Your week was busy too! Let's hope this week is a bit calmer, ok? lol
ReplyDeleteOh it sounds like a really busy time for you. I guess the freelancing stuff is good but it must be hard to balance that with your day job.
ReplyDeleteHope things ease up a bit for you.
Cats can be such determined animals! Hopefully the latch on the trash keeps him out of the trash. Sounds like you've had a seriously crazy week. Hopefully you're managing to have a little fun in between the sleep and work. Kelley Armstrong is on my TBR list. Somehow I've never read her. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLuckily, our trash is too hard for the cats to get into, but they do get up on the counters when they think I'm not going to be around to catch them at it. It sounds like a busy week for you, Bea. I hope this next week will be a little easier.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Measures need to be taken at times! The lock will have to do Bea! Hope things slow down for you soon!
ReplyDeleteNaomi @ Naomi’s Reading Palace
I know that threading water feel too! But these days I don't think I'm even managing that. It's so hard to fit in all that I want to do with all the things that I have to do (like work!) and I'd love for life to slow down just a tad!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your books, sometimes it's nice to have a small haul that you are really excited about instead of a larger one that you only feel so so about.
lol. Oh those safety locks. Yep, I remember using those. lol.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the busy schedule! Hope you are having a great week and enjoying your reads.
