Goof and I were sitting on the couch when Claude came over and suddenly began slinking up underneath the couch slipcover. Goof was suspicious of the moving object under the slipcover and began growling. I was laughing.

Recently, Claude has become quite attached to the afghan on my bed. It's been there for months, so I'm not sure what prompted this recent spate of loving. He jumps up, begins kneading (I was actually under the afghan when I took these pictures with my phone ), and buries his mouth in it, licking it and purring, licking and purring, licking, kneading and purring. Crazy beast.

Cat Thursday: Claude's Corner. Or Is It?

A few weeks ago I posted about Claude's current favorite spot in the living room. Shortly after I posted that, it suddenly dawned on the The Noodge, The Bully, aka Goof, that Claude was hanging out on the couch and actually relaxing. Well, my boy the PITA, the top of the food chain, couldn't let that be so up he went.

The look on poor Claude's face; he looks positively offended! Goof attempted to look sweet and innocent but didn't quite pull it off. Notice that instead of placing himself next Claude, Goof chose instead to block him in. A few minutes after I took this photo, Goof chased Claude off the couch, as he's wont to do. The next time Goof jumped up while Claude was curled up, I made him come down. Poor Claude has to have SOMEPLACE he can sleep and hang out.

Claude's favorite spot to hang out these days is on the back of the couch in the living room. If Goof is on the couch cushions, Claude jumps up here. He's so quiet that I often forget he's even up there. :D

Claude gets frustrated because he likes to be in my lap, or more precisely, sprawled across my chest, but I often have the laptop in my lap. On this day, he found an alternative - my typing arm. Eight. Pounds. of. Dead. Weight.

Also, I'm not sure why there's such a drastic change of color from one picture to the next; they were taken seconds apart, with my cellphone.  

Yes, I am using a stack of books as my mouse pad. :D Creativity FTW! :P

I walked into my bedroom and found both boys on my bed, though not too close to each other. :D Goof's eyes are glowing demonically thanks to the flash. He looks positively evil. :P And yes, those are my clothes for the day laid out on my unmade bed. :D

Claude's favorite place to sleep is in my laundry basket. Here, he looks like he's thinking "No, mine. Get your own." Sorry dude, those are MY clean clothes you're sleeping on. You have a bed, use it. :D

Goof and Claude are making progress towards tolerating each other. They shared the window for about 5 minutes before Claude jumped down. :) Claude is the cat on the left (gray, slim) and Goof is on the right  (tubby tabby).

Claude has been venturing from the bedroom for brief periods of time but still spends most of his time in there. Now he's spending time on my bed, in his bed, and in the window. He has decided he likes sitting in my bedroom window but only when the blinds are closed. When the blinds are up, he ignores the window. Silly boy.

I mentioned in my Sunday Post that I have a new cat but he was in hiding so I didn't have pictures. Claude's people moved to Australia over the weekend but they had miscalculated when Claude could go  and had to leave without him. So, he's boarding with me until January when he can be shipped off to join his people.
