BOOK CHICK CITY'S 100 Books in 2013 Reading Challenge!

I decided to join this one since I'm doing the goodreads 2013 reading challenge and there's a lot of overlap for the two. The details below are copied from BCC's post

SIGN-UP DETAILS:

To sign up you MUST make a post on your blog about participating in the challenge. Please feel free to use the banner above, however, a link via the image back to this post, so others can join the challenge if they wish, would be much appreciated.

CHALLENGE DETAILS:

  • Timeline: 01 Jan 2013 – 31 Dec 2013
  • Rules: Read 100 books in 2013 (any genre)
  • You don’t have to select your books ahead of time, you can just add them as you go. Also if you do list them upfront you can change them, nothing is set in stone! The books you choose can crossover into other challenges you have on the go.
  • You can join at anytime. All books read in 2013 count towards the challenge regardless of when you sign up.
  • At the beginning of Jan 2013, you will find a link to specific month to add your reviews.
  • Audiobooks are accepted.
  • Only fiction, no non-fiction.
  • This challenge can crossover to other challenges.
  • You DO NOT have to write reviews of the books you read, but if you decide to then a place will be available each month  for you to link up your reviews.
  • You don’t have to have a blog to join in – for those without a blog but who use Goodreads, Amazon, LibraryThing etc, you can add the URL to where you track your books. If you don’t have a URL at all then choose a name you would like to use and then copy and paste the following link: http://wp.me/p2wdqf-6ZI

 ADD YOUR LINK:

Please use the DIRECT URL of your participation post to sign up to the challenge by adding it to Mr Linky at BCC's sign up post. DO NOT just add your BLOG URL as people won’t be able to see how you’re doing and offer support!

That's it! Go forth, read and have fun!

100 Books in a Year Reading Challenge 2011

Ok, I mean it this time. :D THIS is the last reading challenge that I'm signing up for in 2011. We're only a week into the new year and I already have 4 books under my belt so I should be able to accomplish this one. Particularly as now and then, I'll take a weekend to blow off everything, and just curl up and read. On those weekends I have read as many as 5 books. So I have a very good chance of actually finishing this challenge, especially as the books I read for my other challenges will count toward this one.

     The nitty gritty details:

It's hosted by Book Chick City, so go there to sign up. You can join anytime between Jan. 1, 2011 and Dec. 31, 2011.

  • Rules - Read 100 or more books in 2011
  • All books can crossover into other challenges you have on the go.
  • Only print books and ebooks count (no audiobooks).
  • You can join anytime between now and the later part of next year.
  • At the beginning of Jan 2011, I will add a link so you can add your reviews but this is not obligatory.
  • You don't have to have a blog to join in - for those without a blog just FILL IN THIS FORM and I will add you to the list - just join the discussion in the comments section to let us know when you've read a book and what you thought of it! :)
  • You can also follow each other's progress and chat about the VC books you read on twitter too - just use #100BooksInAYear :)

Horror & Urban Fantasy Reading Challenge 2011

Yes, another challenge that I'm going to participate in. Actually I think that both Jax and I are doing this one so we will have two lists of books read, one for each of us. Book Chick City is hosting this one. I don't read much in the way of horror novels but I do read a lot of urban fantasy and some times the lines between the genres get blurry. We only need to read a minimum of 24 books during the year, though of course we can read more. I don't expect to have any problem with accomplishing that. :)

Here are the details:

  • You must sign up at Book Chick City or your reading won't count towards the challenge.
  • Timeline: 01 Jan 2011 - 31 Dec 2011
  • Rules: To read TWENTY FOUR (24) horror & urban fantasy novels in 2011 (24 is the minimum but you can read more if you wish!)
  • You don't have to select your books ahead of time, you can just add them as you go. Also if you do list them upfront you can change them, nothing is set in stone! The books you choose can crossover into other challenges you have on the go.
  • You can join anytime between now and the later part of next year.
  • At the beginning of Jan 2011, you will find a link to add your reviews.
  • You don't have to have a blog to join in - for those without a blog just go to Book Chick City and BCC will add you to the list - just join the discussion in the comments section to let us know when you've read a book and what you thought of it! :)
  1. Tempest's Legacy by Nicole Peeler
  2. Heart's Sentinel by PJ Schnyder
  3. A Safe Harbor: Building Sanctuary by Moira Rogers
  4. The Radleys by Matt Haig
  5. I Thought It Was You by Shiloh Walker
