I'm participating in two Friday book memes, Book Beginnings On Fridays, hosted by Rose City Reader, and The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice.
This is one of my favorite series and I am so excited to have a copy of the next book. It comes out in March. I'm only a few chapters in but enjoying it so far.
Every Friday, share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to Page 56 or 56% on your ereader. If you have to improvise, that is okay.
*Find a snippet, short and sweet.
*Post it, and add the url to your post at the Link here.here.
The quote is from 56% in the eARC.
Not the most attention grabbing start but I was happy to see Tad as he's one of my favorite characters in this series and he hasn't been around much.

"Are you okay, Mercy?" Tad asked me as he disconnected the wiring harness from the headlight of the 2000 Jetta we were working on.

I pulled out my gun and stepped around the car to point it at Lincoln, who was howling and snarling and trying to pull the remains of his left leg out of my radiator, where it was caught. That both of his legs were broken did not apparently register because in among the other sounds he was making were threats. They seemed pretty undirected at the moment, but I believed him.
Oh dear, another car wreck for Mercy. Darn good thing she's a mechanic and can take care of her cars. As for the angry werewolf, Mercy has lots of experience dealing with those. :D
What book are you embarking on? Please share in the comments.
I have heard of this book before before, but I haven't read it. It seems interesting. Enjoy your current read!
ReplyDeleteThanks! The series has its flaws but I do enjoy it.
DeleteI love the cover for this! It's gorgeous. I've been meaning to read this series. While that opening isn't really attention-grabbing, that snippet sure is!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Friday post.
The artist does amazing covers. I agree about both the opening and the snippet.
