Done with summer subbing! I'm not scheduled to work again for a while so I'm hoping that this week I'll be able wrap up car shopping.
I had to laugh Saturday night. A friend who lives up the road was out for an evening walk and saw an ambulance turn into my condominium complex. She immediately whipped out her cell phone and called me, "You better not be having an asthma attack!" LOL No, no asthma attack. The ambulance wasn't there for me; it was parked in front of the building next to mine. I hope my neighbor is okay and I'm grateful to my friend for checking on me even as her comment made me laugh.

Thanks
for visiting and happy reading! :)
That's funny. My mom lives in a condo and most of the residents are seniors, she's one of the younger but it's not uncommon for there to be ambulances there and it gets everyone talking.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the car! Hope you're enjoying the end of sumer... the Cornwell book looks good, and so does the Frankie Bow one.
An Apple Away looks quite kinky. So glad it wasn't you and an asthma attack. Enjoy your downtime and good luck with the car hunt.
ReplyDeleteI have so done that with friends when I've seen an ambulance or firetruck going in where they live. I've lost quite a few friends, so I get a little anxious about that kind of stuff. Glad you're okay though, and pe your neighbor is. Enjoy your books!
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to have friends caring so much about you, her reaction is heartwarming :) Angela Adams, she was the one who wrote that book with the sexy cover, Spellweaver, I recognize her name ! I wish you a fruitful car hunting, have a great weekend Bea :)
ReplyDeleteWell I'm glad the ambulance wasn't for you! Lucky you answered your phone, your friend would have really panicked if you didn't!
ReplyDeleteI think The Embroidered Corpse looks fascinating, I have to check it out on GR to see what it's about.
Enjoy your week :)
Aw, it's great to have a friend like that :D Have a great week! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are okay. I read Flesh and Blood too. I'm going to hop over there and check out your review. You also have some good looking giveaways I'm going to check out.

ReplyDeleteGood luck with the car shopping - hope you have some success now you have more time!
You got some great ones to review! I will be getting Chapelwood to review once it comes out on audio. :) I am kind of curious how it will be.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your reads!

I a glad you weren't having an asthma attack. The meds leave me feeling worse than the attack - but breathing is kind of important.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on car shopping :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your new books, I like the look of Chapelwood
Wow! Great Haul. Happy reading!

That is funny, I am glad it wasn't you. There was a fire close to my house (I was driving home) and the direction the smoke was coming from I thought it was my house. I drove so fast to get home and when I realized it wasn't us I was so happy. I told my house "OMG Thank god, the house isn't on fire" The look on his face made me laugh for hours.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with car shopping, we are down to one car at the moment and maybe next year will be enjoying that hell of looking :)
Have a great week Bea! Happy Reading ox

I'm glad it wasn't you having an asthma attack but it was definitely sweet of your friend to call you right away! I have exercise induced asthma and have been struggling with it lately as I try to figure out a workout plan that is fast enough to do anything but not so fast that I quit being able to breathe! Good luck with the car shopping! I hope you find something you really like. I'm hoping mine makes it a few more years but I am looking forward to having something a little newer and a little smaller! Chapelwood looks really interesting! Hope you enjoy your new books and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI love those crazy moments that make you laugh. Love good friends.
ReplyDeleteInteresting books on your stacks! Enjoy...and I'm glad that you weren't having an asthma attack. I also have asthma, but knock wood, have had it pretty much under control for a while, with my maintenance meds.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week...and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
