Man, I am tired. I worked over 40 hours at school last week, finished an editing job, and did my freelance assistant work. Then Saturday, a friend and I drove 12 hours round trip (that includes stopping for gas and lunch) to pick up two shelter cats she adopted. They came up from Virginia, we met in New Jersey, and drove back to Massachusetts. Now it's Saturday night and I've got a load of laundry and a load of dishes running as I type this up. I still have to clean the litterbox and take out the trash. Sunday I have to remember to call my stepmother and wish her a happy birthday.
The good news is, I think I'm coming out of the funk I've been in the past few weeks. I'm feeling more energetic and more ambitious, so that's good. I also got a very good end-of-year review at the teaching job. :) Overall a good, if tiring, week.

Thanks
for visiting and happy reading! :)
12 hours! That's a trip... no wonder you're tired. I got a kick out of your cat post, and the book set in Crete looks good. Curious how that one turns out. And Jules Verne- I've never read. Hope it's fun.
ReplyDeleteHave an awesome weekend!
The Crete book is both interesting and a little dull and boy is ti a different culture. I am taking a short break from it and then I'll go back.
DeleteI know what you mean by 40 hours plus the traveling!! I would be totally exhausted. Traveling long distances or really any distance can be tiring.
ReplyDeleteIt is, even when you're just sitting. But the trip was worth it.
DeleteWhat a trip! I'm not surprised you are exhausted between that and all the other things you have going on. But I'm glad to hear you ended the week feeling more energetic and more ambitious, that is great! And I'm like you, a little praise just boosts me right up.
ReplyDeleteYes, a little praise is a wonderful thing. It definitely got the week off to a good start.
Delete12 hrs is a long time. You must be exhausted. At least the animals have a good home now. You got some amazing books this week.
ReplyDeleteGrace @ Books of Love
Yes, they'll have a good home with my friend.:)
DeleteFriction sounds good, but new to me. Enjoy it and the rest of your reading and upcoming week.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brandi, you too.
DeleteAwesome haul this week. Candy Corn Murder sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteKrystianna @ Downright Dystopian
It does; I hope it will be.
DeleteTiring but good weeks are good for the soul. I have no idea if that's true, but it sounded good in my head. lol I am also tired. Man, who knew setting up an apartment from scratch requires so much crap. I will never complain about my age again. lol Have a wonderful week, Bea! And if there's ever a herding Bea event on FB I want involved. ;)
ReplyDeleteI remember setting up my first apartment. It's a lot of work. If there's ever a herding Bea event on FB, you will be invited for sure!
DeleteTake advantage of that energy for just in case you get hit by another slump.
ReplyDeleteOh, it can be hard to get out of a funk...glad you are coming out of it. I enjoyed Whiskey Beach and I'm curious about Friction. Thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! What a week. Yay for breaking out of the funk :D
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better Bea - it sounds like the busy week gave you a bit of a shake up, even though you're really tired. I'm sometimes more productive when I'm busier!
ReplyDeleteBea, that is such a good thing you and your friend did for those kitties. [doffs hat] My hat is off to you. And hurray for starting to come out of the funk; I'm sure it was no fun at all to be in. And hurray times three for the good job review! (Well deserved, I have no doubt.)
ReplyDeleteNice books this week! I looked at the Nora Roberts but decided the boxfull of paperbacks in the basement - probably 25 of her books - was enough. ;-) And the only reason I didn't download Around the World in 80 Days is that I've already listened to a different recording (with Jim Dale, which was great!) Anyway, enjoy all your new books and have a great week!
I have thought about getting The Candy Corn Murders but I haven't decided yet..lol. :)
ReplyDeleteWhew! That's quite a drive. Glad to hear you're getting some spunk back. ;) I seriously need to read a Sandra Brown book.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely sounds like an exhausting week! I hope it's not so bad this week! Enjoy your new Nora Roberts book!
ReplyDeleteNaomi @ Naomi’s Reading Palace
Candy Corn Murder looks cute! :) I hope you enjoy all your new books
ReplyDeleteYou must be exhausted, such a busy week!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are getting your energy back, there is nothing worse than feeling tired all the time.
Have a great week!
Heather @ Random Redheaded Ramblings
Congrats on your great job performance review. I'm sure that brightened your spirits!
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you got a great review for your work at the end of the year, Bea :) That must help you to feel like your vacation will be even better ;)
ReplyDeleteYour new books look great, I haven't read any Jules Verne in a long time, but I remember enjoying those I've read.
Happy reading.
