A Month of Giving Thanks: Day Two

Berl at Fantasy Is More Fun and Michelle at Because Reading Is Better Than Real Life are hosting a month long blog event for giving thanks. The idea is to blog about people, things, or events that we are thankful for. I probably won't post every day; I'm aiming instead for a few times a week.
“A Month of Giving Thanks with Berls & Michelle” will be a month-long challenge to post every day from November 1st to November 30th about something we’re thankful for. This is about sharing the love and being thankful, so there really aren’t going to be any rules or anything. We just thought it would be nice to invite everyone to join, so that we can all share the love! - See more at: http://www.becausereading.com/givingthanks/#sthash.TKptdpkq.dpufv

If you want to participate, you still can; just click on one of the links above. You can post every day, once a week, several times a week, whatever schedule works for you. There will be a linky post every day at the to host blogs so you can link up your post.

Today, I want to thank my co-blogger Jax. Jax and I met on author Kelley Armstrong's message board. We also became Facebook friends and have become real life friends as well, though we've yet to meet.

Less than a year after I started the blog, my laptop died and I didn't have the funds for a new one. Jax had a working computer at home so at my request she came on board to help me out. For about a year, I blogged from my local library, logging on for an hour at a time, longer if there wasn't a waiting list. I headed there several nights a week after work and usually once on the weekend. Jax helped by contributing reviews and generally helping me keep the blog running. These days I have a working laptop and I do all of the behind the scenes work, and Jax reviews as she's able; she's busy with an intense new career and has little spare time. We still talk often and when I need to rant, she listens patiently and offers advice or comfort as needed. When I've had rough patches and thought about calling it quits, she's been there to listen and to offer advice or a kick in the butt. I could run the blog without her, but I'm glad I don't have to.

Thanks Jax!

  3. Sounds like you have a great friend in Jax! I know how difficult it can be to keep a blog running when you don't have a working computer, so I'm sure Jax jumping in and helping out was such a relief! And how neat that you also met on the Armstrong boards. Sounds like it was a great community :)

    1. It is so much harder without a working computer. The Armstrong board was a great place with wonderful people and a few more folks from there will be showing up in these posts.

  4. It would be so tough to blog without easy computer access. I'm so glad Jax was there to help out!
