I'm reading several books right now so I chose to feature the non-fiction book, "Calm Mama, Happy Baby" by Derek O'Neill and Jennifer Waldburger. This is from 56% in the ebook.
Not every mom who prefers to keep to herself is struggling, mind you; we're referring to the idea that handling every aspect of motherhood on your own is some sort of ideal picture, and whoever paints the picture with the most color wins.
That's a great quote...I can totally relate! I was a single mom with my older daughter. When I had my younger daughter, I had a really difficult time letting my boyfriend help, it was hard for me.
ReplyDeleteSo far the authors seem to know what they're talking about, which is reassuring.
DeleteAs a mom, good luck keeping it all to yourself. Eventually you have to give in and get help from someone, somewhere... whether it's your boyfriend like above, your own parent, a sister, or even a friend.... we all need somebody sometimes. Do everything on your own and you'll be burnt out faster than a light bulb.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
I recall having to find a support system of other moms to get me through...we all need one!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...and here's MY FRIDAY MEMES POST
It must be incredibly difficult for mothers without a support system.
DeleteThis sounds like good, solid, common sense advice. I hope the book is helpful to you.
ReplyDeleteHere's the link to my Friday post: A GOOD HOME.
I'm hoping it will help me in my work. A lot of does seem to be common sense.
DeleteLove the 56! Interesting!
ReplyDeleteHere is my post
They always are. :)
DeleteVery interesting quote. Not sure I quite get it out of context, but it got my attention!
ReplyDeleteLinking from Fresh Cut Friday!
