Sunday Book Share #161 Back Home Again

http://caffeinatedbookreviewer.com/category/sunday-post

I'm participating in The Sunday Post, hosted by Caffeinated Book ReviewerStacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga's Reviews; and Bought Borrowed and Bagged, hosted by TalkSupe. It's a chance to share the print and digital books we've received and posts and events on the blog.

My flight to DC was uneventful. I was there Monday through Thursday, the funeral was on Wednesday. A lot of people turned up for the funeral. My stepmother's house was full and more relatives were scattered around various hotels. Mother Nature was crabby and it poured in the morning before the church service but then the rain changed to drizzle for the grave site service. It was my first military service and it was beautiful, if not quite as depicted on "NCIS". I still can't believe he's gone.

September Challenge Wrap Up

This year I signed up for fewer year long challenges and I'll do more short-term challenges.

Grab a drink, get comfy, and get ready!

September Balancing the Books

Inspired by Fantasy Is More Fun and The Geeky Blogger's Book Blog, I decided to start tracking my book expenses this year. I'll do a wrap up post at the end of each month.

I've given myself $10 real money each month to spend on books, whether for myself, as gifts, or blog giveaways. "Real money" being cash from my bank account as opposed to gift cards and store credits. I am counting money spent to ship giveaways and Paperbackswap.com books. Books from my personal shelves, borrowed from the library or a friend, and books received for review do not count against my purchases.

Blurb from the publisher:

The scorching-hot Dempsey siblings continue to fight fire with fire…

Her heart’s in his line of fire…
Heating up reading lists and leisure time long after the summer heat has cooled will be Kate Meader’s PLAYING WITH FIRE, which tells the story of rookie firefighter Alex Dempsey. She may be the only woman in Engine Company 6—and may have burned through thirty-four dates in the last ten months—but she’s got everything under control. At least until she rescues Eli Cooper, Chicago’s devastatingly handsome mayor, from a hotel blaze. These two have clashed before—Eli’s a brilliant politician, used to the spotlight, and Alex has no use for a man who can smooth-talk anyone into anything, including his bed. But after their headline-grabbing encounter, Alex is the one starting to sizzle…

...but first she’ll set his world aflame…
Eli Cooper has one goal: winning the next election, and Alex, his sassy savior, may be the spark he needs to light up his sputtering mayoral campaign. “Dating” the female firefighter who saved his life is political gold, but her total lack of filter makes Eli incensed—and more than a little hot and bothered. For the sake of ratings, their bickering will have to wait until they get some privacy…

And once these two are alone together, there’ll be no way to extinguish the flames in Kate Meader’s second sizzling installment in the Hot in Chicago series, PLAYING WITH FIRE!

Cat Thursday - Nesting

My office, which started life as a dining room, and currently doubles as a storage room, is full of boxes and clutter. It's also quite dark as it's an interior room without any windows. Goof has taken to sleeping in there,on top of an box. There's nothing soft or cozy in the box, though there is a paper bag on top. But it's full of hard surfaces underneath the bag. It's become a favorite sleeping spot nonetheless. :D :D

Did I mention it's cluttered and messy? The organizing and cleaning fairies have completely fallen down on the job, lol.
