Review

I enjoy Krista's writing, I've read or reviewed or own most of what she's published. When she was looking for reviewers for these, her newest titles, I jumped at the chance.
Kindle Freebies

I bought the Toddler book more as something to read to see if it's one I can recommend to the parents in my classroom than for myself. The stress proof one however is definitely for me. I need help dealing with stress. Vixen and Space Sucks just looked fun. :) You may have noticed I like Krista's writing. :D She's one of several authors who have their own folder on my kindle. :)

Review

I've reviewed books by both of these authors before and enjoyed them so I happily accepted when asked to review these. Lovesick is scheduled for February 2nd, along with an excerpt, and A Perfect Storm is scheduled for April 6th.

Kindle Freebies

It was a good few weeks for these. At Christmas, my stepmother was amazed by the number of books I have on my kindle and was delighted to learn about the freebies that Amazon offers. She uses a kindle also so shared the link with her.

Some of these authors are familiar to me but many are new to me and I'm looking forward to checking them out. Sadly, I didn't receive any books for Christmas but I did get many, many gift cards to various book stores. I haven't spent them yet O_o but no worries, I will. :P

I hope you all had pleasant holidays, and I hope you have a wonderful new year.

Purchased

It was a very good week for purchasing books. Subterranean Press, who prints Kelley Armstrong's novellas, released her new one, "Hidden", in ebook format for only $5.99 and to celebrate, they also lowered the ebook price of "Counterfeit Magic" and "Angelic" to only 99 cents. I already own the latter two in print but couldn't pass up the opportunity to get them for my Kindle at such a bargain price. I initially put "Hidden" on my Kindle wish list (I pre-ordered the print copy, it should be arriving soon) but then changed my mind and bought it too. Hey, it's Kelley. 'Nuff said. :P

WOO HOO!!! After a delay of several months, the next book in JA Campbell's Into The West YA series is finally out! I  have been waiting and waiting and waiting....I really, REALLY enjoy this series. Romance, action, the Old West and time travel plus very good writing. And Julie is a really, really nice person to boot.

Review

I got one review book, the third book in a series but I think it might be doable even though I haven't read the first two.

I also downloaded some Kindle freebies and got one book from the library. That one was for my classroom but after my co-teachers and I looked it over, we decided it didn't meet our needs and I returned it.

I requested a couple books from the library but they haven't come in yet. I did get a bunch of books for review, though I'm not sure when I'll get to them. Otherwise, it was a quiet book week. Which, since I'm still playing catch up, and getting ready for Christmas, is a good thing.

Review

This is part of Jodi Redford's "That Old Black Magic" series, a PNR series that is a lot of fun. I reviewed the first three books in the series and this is number 4.I squeed when I saw my name in the dedication; she had said a while ago that she was going to put myself and a couple of other reviewers in the dedication but I'd forgotten. It was a pleasant surprise to see it!

Part of the Hunter Kiss series, I'm looking forward to this one; it sounds as if there are big changes in store.

I was sent this for review but haven't read the preceding 11 books. I've read a couple of short stories but that's all. Does anyone know if I can still read this without being utterly lost or should I try to find someone to review it?

I enjoy this series very much. I like Hunter's take on shape shifters, vampires and other supernaturals. It's gritty, intelligent and well written.

I read the first book and enjoyed it but didn't love it. I haven't read the second book but I may give this one, the third in the series, a chance.
How was your week? What books did you get?

It's been a month since my last IMM post. I was sick all of November, and even ended up in the hospital. I was so sick, I didn't even have the energy to read. O_o I'm on the mend finally and back to work, which means most nights I'm tired to read, lol. Still, I did get some new books over the past month.

Library

Chicks Kick Butt is an anthology of urban fantasy and paranormal stories where the focus is on strong heroines. The Near Witch is a YA fantasy/fairy tale that I have heard very good things about.

Review

I love Margaret Maron's Southern Bootlegger mystery series; a co-worker introduced me to it a few years ago and I've gobbled up the entire series. She has another mystery series set in New York and in this book, the two series come together.

Say You'll Be Mine and The Legacy of Eden both sound a bit soap opera-ish but seem interesting so I thought I would give them a try.

They're all romances of one variety or another, though someone on Twitter said that What A Demon Wants wasn't really a romance. I guess I'll find out. :D They're all new to me authors so here's hoping I find one or two that I like.
Review

Holding On To Heaven is an erotic historical romance and will be the first book I've read by Keta Diablo. Fate's Edge is part of the Edge series by Ilona Andrews, but the books can be read as standalones. Zero Day introduces a new hero for Baldacci but otherwise promises to be another one of his trademark political action thrillers. Acquainted With The Night is an urban fantasy but geared for mainstream readers. The author, Piper Maitland, will be here on the 19th, with a guest post.

Gifted

The author, Kay Springsteen, is an acquaintance of mine and was kind enough to send me a PDF of this book, which released in October. It's a sequel to Heartsight, which I reviewed back in June. I won't be reviewing it, this one's just for fun.

Purchased

I bought the copyediting book from The Book Depository to help me with my work. The two Jane True books I had originally read from the library and NetGalley, respectively. Now, thanks to Paperbackswap.com I own them. I love that series so very, very much. It's smart, funny, sexy, has a dark edge and uses beings from various mythologies not usually found in urban fantasy.

Review

Not my usual fare, but I like dragons and I can review any story in the book, or the whole book, my choice. Anthologies can be a bear, so I like that the publisher is so flexible.

Library

I'm a Nora Roberts fan and I've been on the wait list at the library for this book for months, then they joined the Kindle Library Lending program and it was listed so I requested it and now I have my first library kindle book. :)

Amazon Freebies

It's been a while since I showcased any of the titles I've downloaded. I've only got a few this time around so I thought I'd include them. The cookie one I hope to use this Christmas; my work always does a cookie swap so this book seemed perfect. The autism book is for my classroom work; autism is more common these days and it's rare I don't have at least student who is somewhere on the autism spectrum. The organization book, well, organization is not one of my better skills so I thought I'd give this book a try.
