Friday Memes: The Boyfriend Project by Farrah Rochon

I'm participating in two Friday book memes, Book Beginnings On Fridays, hosted by Rose City Reader, and The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice.

Every Friday, share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.

For the Friday 56, grab a book, any book. Turn to Page 56, or 56% on your ereader. If you have to improvise, that's okay. Find a snippet, short and sweet. Post it, and add the url to your post at the link here.
I downloaded this book for review and I'm looking forward to reading it. I've read one book by her and have three others beside this one, waiting for me to read them. I've heard a lot about this one and the cover is cute, though I'm not usually a fan of the cartoon covers.

"Alexa, play Drake."...."Don't just tell it to play a certain artist, Denise. Tell it what song you want it to play."..."I don't know any Drake songs. That's why I asked the damn Alexa thingy."

Heh, I do that with my Alexa. When I want to try a new artist, I just ask Alexa to play the artist. It's not the most exciting beginning, but it is a relatable one.

The quote is from 56%  in the ebook.

"If I had to endure another week of staring at those scrubs stretching across his perfect little ass I don't think I would have been able to stop myself from tackling him. Last thing I need is to get written up by HR for harassing a cute doctor who's five years my junior," she said.

Click on the cover to go to the book's Goodreads page.

What book are you reading or about to start? Please share in the comments.

I really like how you offset the quotes with the darker background. It makes them easy to read.

    1. That's good to hear; it's why we did it that way but I always wonder if that's how readers see it.

  7. That beginning made me laugh. I've never gotten an Alexa because I don't think I could think of the correct question enough for it to be useful! That 56 made me laugh too. Sounds like a fun book!
