Blurb from goodreads:

In the remote Rocky Mountains, lives depend on the Search & Rescue brotherhood. But in a place this far off the map, trust is hard to come by and secrets can be murder...

It's all come down to this...

Daisy Little has lived in agoraphobic terror for over eight years. Trapped within a prison of her own making, she watches time pass through her bedroom window. Daisy knows she'll never be a part of the world...until the day she becomes the sole witness of a terrible crime that may finally tear the Search and Rescue brotherhood apart for good.

My Thoughts:

I've enjoyed this series so much and this was my favorite of the series. "In Safe Hands" was a good ending to the series. Ruggle kept up the tension but also lightened it up with humor and of course, romance. I loved that the couples from the earlier books showed up and were part of the story, they didn't just make a passing appearance. The training club was a great way to work in the characters and bring Daisy out of her shell. Plus I laughed out loud several times. Daisy never stood a chance against Hurricane Lou. :D

I wasn't sure about Daisy at first but I ended up liking her. I wasn't sure I could relate to her but as the story progressed, I connected with her. Ruggle beautifully portrays her emotional struggle and growth and develops her, showing her strength and her vulnerability. Agoraphobia can be crippling but Daisy has built a life nonetheless. Still, she yearns for more and finds the strength to take more.

The romance between Daisy and Chris was sweet with a long, simmering build up. They have a tragic back story behind how they met and its affected both of them over the years. When they finally open up, both of them move forward in healing. Daisy and Chris were good together and complemented each other.

The mysteries running throughout the series come to a hella conclusion. After the reveal of book three, I was on pins and needles, especially in certain scenes. Ruggle ratcheted up the tension and suspense to almost unbearable levels then with humor or a tender moment, gently brought the reader back down. I think Ian the firefighter may be my new hero. <3 But back to the mysteries. I actually felt sorry for the bad guys; heck, I liked them! But dang, Ruggle kept me guessing as to the assorted whos and whys and hows.

"In Safe hands" made me laugh, cry, sigh, and bite my nails. It was the prefect end to the series.
