"Frenchie, huh?" she said, once they were on their way again, the laughter in her tone welcome.
"I really need to strangle him. Surely, my folks wouldn't notice one less son."
I am reading that too. I started at the beginning with Nalini Singh. I love her books and this story was really good.
ReplyDeleteI've read a few by her and enjoyed them. The humor in this snippet made me laugh so I have high hopes for the story and the book.
DeleteThe excerpt made me laugh. Andrews is on my Authors to Try list. Can't wait to read her books! I haven't heard of the rest in this anthology though. Hope you're enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteThe only one I haven't read before is Vane. It's a nice mix of authors. I'll be giving away a copy so stop back and enter. :)
DeleteCool cover and it sounds like a great read. I have become a fan of anthologies.

I do like the cover, quite well done. I like anthologies but they can be hit or miss. With these authors though, I'm optimistic about the book.
DeleteI never read anything by this author but what a great cover!
ReplyDeleteI do love the cover!
DeleteThat is definitely an awesome cover...and what an odd expression for what she is going to do to him! LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...and here's mine: “WALKING ON TRAMPOLINES”
I had the impression Frenchie was a nickname not something she was planning to do.
DeleteNice quote, and what a great cover! Thanks for sharing. Here's mine: "Murder on the Hill".
ReplyDeleteThe cover has been a big hit, lol. It is eye catching. Thanks for visiting.
Deletewhat a neat cover! and such mysterious context for the line you picked. but maybe they are right. surely, they won't notice?

LOL I imagine any parent would notice a missing son. :D
DeleteBrothers! Sometimes you want to strangle them.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great anthology. Hope you're enjoying the stories.
My Friday post features HIDE IN PLAIN SIGHT.
I often want to strangle mine, doesn't help that he's older. to boot. :D
DeleteHahaha as much as I love my brother I've definitely felt that way from time to time! I'm just getting started with Ilona Andrews and still need to get started with all the other authors :(
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good anthology!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
