I had a busy, busy week with editing, beta reading, and promoting several of my author clients plus the day job. I got behind when I developed a multi-day stomach and intestinal bug, oh joy. The week ended on a high note with two Christmas parties on Saturday. In the afternoon, I went to author Penny Watson's holiday bash just outside of Boston. I got to meet her, Laura K. Curtis, and a bunch of new to me authors. In the evening my friend Elizabeth had her annual holiday get together. I am all partied out, lol. I iz old. :P Today, I have a ton of work to do for my other part-time job with BTSemag, and some reviews to write for the Nook.

Ashlyn Chase was at Penny's author/reader holiday party and we chatted. As we chatted I realized I had 2 of her books on my Kindle. When I mentioned that, she generously pulled out a print copy of the book 3 in the series and gave it to me. Thank you Ms. Chase!

These were all Kindle purchases.
I purchased a print copy of this from the author at Penny's author/reader holiday party and Ms. Blair signed and personalized it for me. :)

Ah, it sucks that you got sick but at least the week ended on a high note! We had a festival this weekend and I'm exhausted, so I totally understand how you feel right now. I love the cover for Vampire Next Door, so cute!
ReplyDeleteThat series has some cute covers. I hope you had fun at your festival. :)
Delete'Tis the season to get sick, apparently- seems like everyone I know is sick right now or fighting off a cold. I've been lucky so far.... And isn't it funny how parties take a little more out of us than they used to? :)
ReplyDeleteCozy Christmas capers sounds nice.
Yeah, it does seem like a lot of people are sick lately. I hope you manage to avoid being sick!
DeleteLOL to that quote, what an odd one! I enjoyed a previous book by Elyssa Patrick so I'm going to snag that freebie now! Thanks for sharing it! Have a good week, hopefully bug free :)
ReplyDeleteIt made me laugh too. :D I hope you have a good week too, hopefully bug free!
DeleteI hope you're feeling better now, Bea!

DeleteI love Annette Blair's series! There such fun and how awesome you got to meet her! Glad you had a good week despite the stomach bug. I can relate to the feeling old. I was standing up all day yesterday and I'm so sore today. When did that happen? Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteWhen did we get old? I'm not ready. :P
DeleteIf I like this one, I may check out her kitchen witch series. That looked cute.
Aw it's never fun being sick, but thats good it was over before the party and you had fun. I've read Ms. Chase (Strange Neighbors) they where good. I liked the covers that's what pulled me towards them. ^_^ I picked up some good books this week and am currently devouring Steel’s Edge (The Edge #4) by Ilona Andrews. Anything by Ilona is a must read! Have a great week Bea.
ReplyDeleteI was glad I was feeling much better yesterday; it would have been so disappointing to miss the party. I have the first 2 Strange Neighbors books on my Kindle and I'm lookng forward to reading this one. As I recall, the cover for the first one caught my eye and drew me in.
DeleteBeing sick is the worst, but I'm glad you were able to attend some events.
