Blurb from goodreads:

Experience the vampire world for the holidays through the eyes of Gigi Scanlon in this e-novella prequel to The Dangers of Dating a Rebound Vampire from beloved paranormal romance author Molly Harper!

College co-ed Gigi is headed home to Half-Moon Hollow for her first Christmas since her sister, Iris, was turned into a vampire by her beloved undead husband, Cal. Iris is working overtime to make this holiday as normal and special as possible. After all, it’s taken her months of working with Jane Jameson and the Hollow’s vampires to convince herself that she won’t bite her baby sister on sight.

Gigi has her own worries. She’s falling out of love with her high school sweetheart, Ben, and has no idea how to tell him. She’s got a secret job interview with terrifying teen Council official, Ophelia Lambert. And there’s a handsome but cagey vampire following her around town and then disappearing before Gigi can confirm that he’s not, in fact, a figment of her fertile imagination. Holidays with family are complicated. Christmas with an undead family can be downright dangerous.

Bea's Thoughts:

So after I read the egalley, I discovered that back in the spring, I had downloaded the audiobook for free. I had totally forgotten I had that! Just shows how much the blurb appealed to me. :DI do want to listen to the audio version as I think this book would be hilarious to listen to.

As usual, I'm reading out of order but I'd read a few of the books that came before this one so I wasn't too lost. There were a few times when I was confused but Harper weaves in a lot of background so it was managable. If you haven't started the series yet, this is not the place to start.

"I'm Dreaming of An Undead Christmas"perfectly captures the chaos of a family Christmas and the preparations. Gigi is a college student, graduating soon, and her POV brought back many memories of my college days. The story focuses on Gigi and the upcoming changes in her life and introduces a mysterious new vampire who I don't think I've met yet in any of the books I've read. :D The bulk of the story however focuses on Christmas and family, whether it's the family we're born into, marry into, or create for ourselves. There's not a lot of action or character development but we do get to know Gigi better, and there were laughs galore. I think just about every other page had me laughing. Harper's humor is similar to my own so her books never fail to make me smile and laugh.

"I'm Dreaming of An Undead Christmas" was the perfect book to read before going to bed as all of the laughing had me quite relaxed. So, take a break from all of your Christmas and family nuttiness and jump into Gigi's. You won't regret it.

  2. Proof that I am NOT an audio book person, it's been a YEAR and I'm still not done with this book. I have better luck reading it.

    Merry Christmas, Bea!

  5. I really liked this one and it sort of goes with the spin off book called The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires and Gigi is getting a whole book and I can't wait! I want to know who that strange vamp who is sort of stalking her is! :)
