I've been seeing this meme around for a year or two year and decided to join in.
This week I'm reading A Brother's Honor by Brenda Jackson, a contemporary romance.
The first full paragraph from page 56:
Their grandfather had flatlined immediately after his last words to them, and they'd finally had to accept that Richard Granger was now gone from their lives. It had been hard going to Sutton Hills to deliver the news to Hannah and even harder to notify his father and make funeral arrangements without him.
What are YOU reading?
So sad! That's a moment I can live without.
ReplyDeleteIt was a sad moment. Thanks for visiting! :)
DeleteOh how fun. I'm just starting He's the One anthology. Pg 56 is part of the first one by Jill Shalvis...
ReplyDeleteElla let out the pent-up breath she'd been holding and tried to look normal. As if being handcuffed in nothing but a slipping towel was anywhere close.
oh and I so wasn't oh how fun-ing your quote. that one made me tear up a little when I read it.
DeleteLMAO Oh that sounds interesting! :D
ReplyDeleteNo worries, I figured you were referring to the meme, not the quote.
ReplyDeleteJust enough to pique my curiosity! Thanks for sharing..and for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteBrenda Jackson is a great storyteller. I've read a few of her novels and enjoyed them.

I'm not loving this one so far, but we'll see.
DeleteWe are the hollow men
ReplyDeleteWe are the stuffed men
Leaning together
Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!
Our dried voices, when
We whisper together
Are quiet and meaningless
As wind in dry grass
Or rats' feet over broken glass
In our dry cellar
~~T.S. Eliot
I didn't want to jump ahead in the ebook I'm reading, so I grabbed the book physically closest.
Very nice. I have read very little T.S.Eliot
DeleteThanks for joining in!
Awe, that's a sad part. I saw this book the other day, thinking I should have gotten it. :)
