Sunday Book Share #43
I'm participating in The Sunday Post, hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer; Showcase Sunday hosted by Books, Biscuits and Tea; and Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga's Reviews. These memes allow book bloggers the chance to share print and digital books
they've received, and different posts and events at their blogs.
Last week was the last regular week of care at my school; we start our summer schedule on Monday. I said goodbye to one child who's taking the summer off and to two who are leaving the center. I always hate saying goodbye; I'll really miss the ones who left. Of course, I got sick halfway through the week; my usual sinus infection and asthma flare. Sigh. Well, at least it's been several months since I was sick so that's progress. Unfortunately, it's affecting my reading and I'm now behind on my reviews and my editing so you may not see me around much for a few days.

Excerpt & Giveaway: Zombie, Incorporated by Jill Elaine Hughes
Welcome to today's stop on the Zombie, Incorporated tour. Jill Elaine Hughes is an independent author of New Adult (mature YA, 18-26) fiction as well as a full-time freelance journalist based in Chicago. She's contributed to the Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, Chicago Reader and many magazines as a journalist over the past 15 years. Like most New Adult fiction authors these days, she's gone the self-publishing route for her work since most publishers haven't caught up to the readership trends in this emerging shelf category. Her writing is usually laced with humor and also often has sexual and/or dystopian elements.

For a two-thousand-year-old Druid, Atticus O’Sullivan is a pretty fast runner. Good thing, because he’s being chased by not one but two goddesses of the hunt—Artemis and Diana—for messing with one of their own. Dodging their slings and arrows, Atticus, Granuaile, and his wolfhound Oberon are making a mad dash across modern-day Europe to seek help from a friend of the Tuatha Dé Danann. His usual magical option of shifting planes is blocked, so instead of playing hide-and-seek, the game plan is . . . run like hell.Crashing the pantheon marathon is the Norse god Loki. Killing Atticus is the only loose end he needs to tie up before unleashing Ragnarok—AKA the Apocalypse. Atticus and Granuaile have to outfox the Olympians and contain the god of mischief if they want to go on living—and still have a world to live in.

Cat Thursday - Unlikely Buddies
Welcome to the weekly meme hosted by The True Book Addict
that celebrates cats; their foibles and humorousness and the joy they
bring. You can join in by posting a favorite LOL cat pic you made or
came across, cat art or share with us pics of your own felines, then
post your link up at The True Book Addict.
This picture reminds me of a guinea pig we had growing up. My older brother had a guinea pig named Rabbit and his cage was on the floor of the kitchen. Most of the cats (we had five) ignored him but my sister's cat Clover seemed to think that Rabbit was just an odd looking cat who lived in a cage. He would curl up next to the cage, with his back pressed against it. Over time, Rabbit came to realize that Clover meant no harm and they would curl up back to back, their bodies touching in between the bars. Rabbit would squeak happily when Clover came into the kitchen and they would press their noses together through the bars.
