My Thoughts:

I am delighted to be hosting a spot on the THE HAIR BOOK by LaTonya Yvette & Amanda Jane Jones blog tour hosted by Rockstar Book Tours. Check out my review and make sure to enter the giveaway!

The blurb of the book appealed to me. I teach toddlers and am all about helping them feel positive about their bodies and looks. This book seemed like a perfect fit for my classroom and after reading it, I plan on using it in my room.

Simple text combined with bright, spare illustrations should be appealing to toddlers and preschoolers. Jones includes a variety of hair styles and doesn't shy away from hair coverings. The pictures are adorable and engaging, and the text simple enough to keep a toddler's attention. The book is educational, in a gentle manner. I wasn't familiar with kippah hair so I Googled it. I imagine families and classes will find images or terms that spark conversation or learning but the book doesn't shove it down children's throats.

I recommend this book to anyone with a young child in their life.
