Blurb from goodreads:

It all began when a dying man with an arrow in his chest grabs her ankle.

During a heat wave at a Santa Fe resort, Julienne has the resort owner pressuring her to solve the murder. The victim is a high profile business man who made enemies rather than friends, leaving Julienne with a roster of suspects. She was supposed to be training the staff and spending quality time with Mason rather than investigating a murder. The heat turns up when an old girlfriend of Mason's checks in and is determined to get back together.

Arrowed is the fourth book in Avery Daniel's Resort to Murder series and is an exciting contemporary cozy mystery. If you like Cleo Coyle, Maddy Hunter, Duffy Brown, Lynn Cahoon, and Annette Dashofy, then you'll love this series with a strong intelligent sleuth, lavish settings, and tantalizing mysteries.

Buy this spunky clean cozy mystery and start enjoying Julienne's adventures today!

My Thoughts:

"Arrowed" was a quick, easy read and a fun way to spend several hours. Julienne is a traveling training manager for a resort company and each book is set at a different resort. In this one, she and her boyfriend Mason have arrived in Santa Fe to train the employees of a newly acquired resort. Well, Mason, a photographer, is there to take photos and spend time with Julie, as she prefers to be called.

Shortly after arrival, Julie and Mason encounter a dying man with an arrow in his chest. He dies quickly (thank goodness; I can only imagine how excruciating that pain would be). Julie, who has apparently acquired some security skills since I read the first book, is told by her employer to 'fix this' ASAP. He puts a lot of pressure on her and she rises to the challenge, working with both the local police and the resort employees, to hunt up clues and investigate suspects. She missed some easy info and overlooked some obvious things but overall she did well investigating that murder and a subsequent murder. Her skills have definitely improved since the first book.

Looking for a light, easy cozy with a little romance? This is your book. :)

  1. This sounds like fun! Is it set in current day or in the past? The cover looks slightly retro, so I was curious. Thanks for the review.

    1. Hello Jen, Arrowed is contemporary. I think it is a fun mystery, but I'm a little biased. Join me on Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/avery-daniels

    2. LOL Avery was faster than I was. The heroine, Julieen, dresses a little retro but the story is contemporary, as Avery said.
