I'm participating in two Friday book memes, Book Beginnings On Fridays, hosted by Rose City Reader, and The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice.
Every Friday, share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.
For the Friday 56, grab a book, any book. Turn to Page 56, or 56% on your ereader. If you have to improvise, that's okay. Find a snippet, short and sweet. Post it, and add the url to your post at the link here.
I can relate! Sadly, my school, when in session, has thoughts about me showing up when scheduled. Sigh.

This was free on Amazon the other day and it looked fun and light so I bought it. I admit, at first I thought the author was a soap opera actress but a quick Google search showed that is Susan Lucci. Ooops. I'm sure I'm not the only who has mixed them up. :D
I usually don't get to the Artisans Gallery early in the morning, or anywhere early for that matter. I figure that's my reward since I've passed the half-century mark.

I like the quotes, especially the beginning. I'm also wonder what's going on in those scenes.
ReplyDeleteThe quotes are promising, aren't they?
DeleteI love the cover!
ReplyDeleteIt's eye-catching for sure.
DeleteGreat excerpts! Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI had to look up Massanutten. I like books set in places I've never been before, and free is always good. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteYes, books set in places I've never been are appealing. Free si definitely good. :)
DeleteThis book's quotes make me want to pick this book up. Are you on-line teaching right now due to the coronavirus epidemic? My Friday quotes and a review
ReplyDeleteThe quotes give me hope that the book will be good. No online teaching; I teach 1 and 2 year olds at a daycare. I miss them.
DeleteSounds like a fun mystery! Happy weekend, stay safe!
ReplyDeleteThanks, you too!
DeleteI have this one, too. I really sounds so good.
ReplyDeleteIt does, doesn't it? Here's hoping we like it!
DeleteIt's funny but from the tile, I did not expect that adorable cover! Sounds fun. Stay safe x
ReplyDeleteHere is my Friday post.
The title is quite a mouthful! The cover really doesn't match, does it?
DeleteI love that quote! Definitely wondering just what is going on there!
ReplyDeleteI may have to bump this up the TBR pile.
DeleteI hope it's a fan as it sounds!
ReplyDeleteLauren @ Always Me
Thanks!
DeleteThat quote at 56% has me totally interested. What a fun meme! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt's an attention grabbing quote for sure. Have a good weekend.
DeleteHow I wish I could show up to work when I wanted instead of early in the morning :) That second excerpt makes me very curious about this book.
ReplyDeleteOh, wouldn't it be nice to stroll in whenever we wanted? Sigh. That second excerpt has me curious, too.
