JENNIFER HAYWARD has been a fan of romance and adventure since filching her sister's Harlequin Presents novels to escape her teenaged angst. Jennifer penned her first romance at 19. When it was rejected, she bristled at her mother's suggestion that she needed more life experience. Years of working alongside powerful, charismatic CEOs and traveling the world provided perfect fodder for the arrogant alpha males she loves to write, as well as free research on the some of the world's most glamorous locales. A suitable amount of life experience under her belt, she sat down and wrote The Divorce Party, a story that won her Harlequin's 2012 So You Think You Can Write contest and a book contract. Turns out, Mother knew best.

wow I love that. Texas is no surprise to me...but I don't think I have read a book that takes place in North Carolina.
ReplyDeleteA lot of Sherryl Woods's books take place in either North or South Carolina. :-)
DeleteI love the reception. It's so fun to celebrate their love with the happy couple. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing that map - the distribution of states is interesting, more for the states that don't get much love (pun intended) as for the ones that do!
ReplyDeleteWell yay for North Carolina getting some story love this coming year!
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting that NC is on there. It seems a bit more random than the rest. It's very fascinating, learning this!
ReplyDeleteI wish there were more Virginia locations - I love reading books set in the area around me because it's so full of rich history and natural beauty.
ReplyDeleteThat infographic is cool - I don't think I would have guessed that so many were set in Texas!
ReplyDeleteLove the occasion and great to see everybody dressed up!
