A much calmer week last week. My brother is still in the hospital and will be for several more weeks so I've packed up some books to send him. Our tastes are quite divergent but I have a few mysteries that I think will appeal to him. Spring is slowly unfolding despite snowing yesterday and I've already had to up my intake of antihistamines. Claude's people emailed me back finally, claiming they still want him and are still organizing the paperwork to ship him to Australia. I'll believe it when his airline ticket arrives in my inbox. Life is actually pretty calm at the moment. I'm sure that won't last. :D

Thanks
for visiting and happy reading! :)
I'm with you in being a bit suspicious of Claude's owners. Hopefully it will all work out. I'm also in sympathy with the allergy meds. I've switched to an Allegra/Benadryl combination that is currently keeping me from wanting to claw my eyes out and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will last. You got The Deadly Dog Show! I was so tempted by that but missed my chance to sign up so I can't wait to see what you think. Have a great week and I hope your brother is doing better!
ReplyDeleteThere were a bunch of cozies that came through at the same time and it was hard to choose. I hope I'll like The Deadly Dog Show. I'm very suspicious of Claude's people but we'll see what happens. I heard on the radio that it's supposed to be a miserable allergy season, at least around here.Ugh. Have a great week!
DeleteGlad the week was better, but damn, that sucks about your brother. Hope he enjoys the book at least. Hmm .. well, even if Claude's family doesn't come through, at least he has you.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your brother, hopefully your book package will cheer him up a little. The Deadly Dog show sounds fun! Hope life stays calm and you enjoy your new books :)
ReplyDeleteI thought you couldn't take allegra and benadryl together (Katherine P). My allergies are strangely starting too which is weird since the snow is still melting.
ReplyDeleteOur friends adopted a lovely cat who had been adopted after being abandoned. WOrked out great for all involved! My post is: http://fangswandsandfairydust.com/2015/03/je-suis-pret.html
Glad you brother is doing better, I think it's cool that you have a brother that reads cause mine don't. I think I am the only one in the family with a love of reading. :( I am like you and not sure they are going to send for Claude but maybe they will.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new reads..going to go check out that freebie as I like the cover. :)

Week in Review
It's eerily calm here too--and still quite chilly. Dark Screams looks interesting--hope you enjoy it and your other new books.
ReplyDeleteMy recap: http://www.bookclublibrarian.com/2015/03/weekly-book-recap-104.html
I would be suspicious about Claude's people too. I hope everything works out. I'm even suspicious that spring is here...doesn't look like it to me :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books and have a great week!
{{{posivibes}}} for your brother and yay for a calm week. :) I'll believe Claude is leaving on a jet plane when you tell us his ticket has arrived. I checked TWC and we're supposed to hit 80 on Fri. Dafuq? This is supposed to be Spring, not Summer. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI also have allergies, especially worse in the spring; the doctor gave me a new prescription that helps...some.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week...I am curious about Teacher Beware.
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Allergies are the worst, especially when seasons are starting to change. I'll be suspicious of Claude. You got some great looking books this week.
ReplyDeleteGrace @ Books of Love
Oh noes! Sorry about your brother. What happened to him? I missed that update. I'm sure he'll love the care package, it's the thought that counts.
ReplyDeleteHave a great reading week!
I am starting to think that Claude would be better off with you rather than the people who left him.
ReplyDeleteI hope your brother is feeling better, I missed your post last week about what happened. I hope he enjoys the books you sent him :)
A calm week is good, I hope for one soon lol.
Enjoy the week Bea! Happy Reading!
It's probably the calm before the storm! I hope things work out with Claude.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your reads, have a great week!

Here's my Weekly Wrap Up
Michelle @ Book Briefs
teacher beware looks like it will be a good one. hope you enjoy and have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYay for a bit of calm time. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear your brother is still in hospital; I hope he'll be on the mend soon. I'm sure he'll appreciate the books! And I hope that things work out one way or another for Claude. Poor kitty; I can't imagine how a cat would do on a long overseas flight. It might be better for him if he could stay with you!
ReplyDeleteI hope your brother is doing better, even if he still is at the hospital. I hope he gets to go home sooner than later. I feel your pain on the allergies. I either have the worst cold or a case of allergies. Either way, it sucks! Have a good week Bea :)
