Her destiny is etched in his skin…and carved in her heart.

Order of the Wolf, Book 3

Morgan Stills is a woman without a future. At least, that’s what the carnival psychic tells her. Love is foretold as well, but too bad. She’s already been marked for death.

She no sooner flees the psychic’s tent when she’s confronted by the biggest wolf she’s ever seen. A wolf that talks to her—right before she’s enveloped in a black cloak and dragged away.

Caleb was born for one purpose: follow the burning of his tattoo to find and protect his destined mate, the Huntress. When he rescues her from Lazarus, the king of beasts, what thanks does he get? A swift kick in his tender parts that leaves him writhing in a ball of pain.

Morgan quickly realizes her destiny lies with the Order of the Wolf. The only catch—she must choose between two sworn enemies who vie for her body, heart, and soul. Marked as a Huntress, thrust into an ancient feud between werewolf and Hunter, she must pick up a sword or die. And somehow learn to live without the man she is destined to kill.

Warning: Be prepared for fiery hot, melt-your-panties men, all muscle and sinew, searching for their one true mate. Committed, hot, and horny. What could be better?

Bea's Thoughts:

This is the first full length story in the Order of the Wolf series. We get more insight into werewolves and magic in this world and some of my questions are answered. But, I still have questions and I’m hoping the next book will answer them. Whereas the first two stories were told from the POV of werewolves, this story is told from that of their hunters, or Hunters, the magical humans whose duty it is to kill all werewolves. It was interesting seeing things from the other side of the equation. The Hunters passionately hate werewolves and the werewolves we see in the book are thoroughly detestable, unlike the wolves we met in the earlier stories that were arrogant and annoying but not evil.

Cal is a Hunter born and raised in the Order and a true believer. His loyalty is to the Order of the Wolf first and last. Then he finds his mate, his fated mate, Morgan. Morgan also comes from the Hunter bloodline but was raised as a human, ignorant of her background. She of course is the one, foretold in prophecy, who can stop the evil werewolf king. But there are complications. Morgan’s acclimation to the world of the supernatural and to the Order especially was bumpy. She was attracted to Cal but is hesitant since she hardly knows him. She isn’t willing to roll over and become his mate unless he commits to her but for reasons he refuses to share (yes, it’s the misunderstanding trope!) all he’ll commit to is hot sex.

I liked that Morgan didn’t just meekly submit, even if she had trouble resisting him in bed. She knew what she wanted in a relationship and she wasn’t going to settle for less, no matter what fate or prophecy has to say. She’s also a quick learner and sometimes thinks fast on her feet.

I’m not a fan of the big misunderstanding trope but I can somewhat understand why Cal was reluctant to tell Morgan the truth especially given how little time they had to get know each other before it all hit the fan.

Cal could be an annoying male and his jealousy had me rolling my eyes. It was supposed to be Alpha but was just annoying. Morgan was thoughtless and careless about her friends and her job and had a distressing lack of curiosity about her new home at the Order’s mansion; she didn’t even know what state she was living in! Oh, and that mansion was one of my unanswered questions – how do they afford it? Does the Order have investments? And how many branches of the Order are there? The branches we glimpsed in the earlier stories seem unrelated to this one. Do they all function independently? I’ll keep reading if only to see whether Addams answers any of these questions.

I almost forgot! There are some hot and sexy scenes with Cal and Morgan. I did mention that Morgan had trouble resisting him, didn’t I? Addams does the sexy quite well and you might want a pitcher of cold water nearby as you read.

  1. I like that Morgan stood up for what she wanted. I always hate when someone in a romance novel gives in on something major.
