I'm reading a young adult historical paranormal mystery, "Jackaby", by William Ritter. The quote is from page 56  in the hardcover.

Mona's stance faltered. She looked briefly to Charlie and me, finding only equal bewilderment, and then back at the detective. He smiled at her again with charming, innocent curiosity. I know,  I know it's only the first day of October, but once again the Caffeinated Reviewer is holding her Ho-Ho-Ho Holiday Read-a-Thon from November 6th-11th. I'm participating and I'll be holding a challenge.
