Weather-wise, it felt more like March than the end of May; life-wise, it was quiet. I like quiet. :D I got a lot of reading done, which makes me happy, and I enjoyed having Monday off for Memorial Day. One happy thing that happened, I was invited to become a reviewer at Romance at Random. I've done some guest reviews there in the past but now I'll be a regular reviewer. My first review will be up in July.

Better get comfy, a LOT of books arrived last week. :D :D

When I went to the library to pick up the two books above, they were having their used book sale, and, well, I left with a paper bag full of books. Some are books I haven't read by favorite authors, some are authors I've been wanting to try, and a couple are completely new to me authors.
Death Dance by Linda Fairstein
A Firing Offence by David Ignatius
Rx for Murder by Renee B. Horowitz
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie (my first Christie!)
Lullaby and Goodnight by Wendy Corsi Staub
Nighttime Is My Time by Mary Higgins Clark
Life Support by Tess Gerritsen
Trace by Patricia Cornwell
Prayers for the Dead by Faye Kellerman
Cold Snap by Allison Brennan
Thursday's Child by Sandra Brown
To Die For by Linda Howard
Sunrise Point by Robyn Carr
The Heir by Barbara Taylor Bradford
Waiting for Nick & Considering Kate by Nora Roberts
Time and Again by Nora Roberts
Swimming Without A Net by Mary Janice Davidson

Review
Umm, I have a lot. :D Some that I had requested previously finally came in and then I went nuts over at Edelweiss. I am now booked for reviews through the end of August and I have a couple scheduled for January 2015. Eeep.
Did you add any books to your shelves or e-readers last week? Leave a link to your Sunday Post so I can visit you during the week.
Quiet is definitely a good thing :) Congrats on reviewing for Romance at Random.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!
Thanks Yvonne.
Deleteyou got some great books this week! Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteJodie @ Aussie Bookworm
I think so too, and thanks, you too. :)
DeleteCongrats regarding Random, I look forward to your post. Quiet is good, especially when reading is involved. Today it is suppose to rain, with severe storms..which to me says books and coffee! Have a wonderful week Bea!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kimberly. Enjoy rainy Sunday!
DeleteWow that's quite the haul. Good for you. I love it when you can load up at a used book sale. :) Hope this week is quiet as well...
ReplyDeleteUsed book sales and book stores are just too hard to resist. Have a good week.
DeleteWow, you got some good ones! From the library sale, I see some by favorite authors that I haven't yet read, like Nighttime is My Time and Swimming without a Net.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw your Nora Roberts Land, I was reminded that I have it...and want to read it soon! I also want to read The Lemon Orchard.
Congrats on the reviewing honor...enjoy!
Have a great week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
Too bad you aren't closer, I could share the books with you.
DeleteI'm psyched about the new reviewing opportunity and really looking forward to it.
Congrats for reviewing at Romance :) You never read Agatha Christie ? You're going to love Roger Ackroyd ! I got the Alexa O'Brien boxed set too. That's a huge book haul you had ! Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteI know, some how I've gone all these years without reading her. How'd that happen? :D
Deletehave a good week :)
I used to love and dread those library sales, Bea! I inevitably ended up with books I'd never read because they were so cheap and I couldn't NOT buy them :))) Glad you had a quiet and peaceful week and had all your reading done, I love those and yay for all these delicious books, my dear!
ReplyDeleteI find that happens to me too :D But I just can't resist.
DeleteHave a great week!
You got some awesome books. Will be checking out a few of them. Happy Reading. My sunday post:

ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteCongrats on Romance at Random! That is awesome.
ReplyDeleteThose books sales are a blessing and a curse :)
I also went a little nuts on Edelweiss and Netgalley and then I went to BEA and went completely insane, I have books every where and I need a least a year off to read them all :)
I am looking forward to Jackaby I got a copy at BEA signed it really looks like a good book, can't wait to see what you think of it.
Have an amazing week Bea!!!
Enjoy all your new reads.
LOL WE need to read 24/7 to get through all of our books. Used book sales are such a great way to get books for cheap and try new authors, they're like crack.
DeleteI saw Jackaby in a book newsletter and loved the sound of it; I hope it'll be good.
have a great week!
Wow, you seriously had an exciting week Bea! Congrats on becoming a reviewer at Romance at Random! And you're so lucky even if my library has a sale….there are no books I would like to try out as they're all in Dutch >.<
ReplyDeleteThanks :) Yeah, books in the wrong language would not be helpful. :(
DeleteCongrats on being a reviewer at Romance at Random. Nice haul this week. Happy reading and have a great week.
ReplyDeleteSharon @ Sharon's Book Nook!
Thanks, you too.
