I'm participating in two Friday book memes, Book Beginnings On Fridays, hosted by Rose City Reader, and The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice.
Every Friday, share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.
For the Friday 56, grab a book, any book. Turn to Page 56, or 56% on your ereader. If you have to improvise, that's okay. Find a snippet, short and sweet. Post it, and add the url to your post at the link here.

My sister K got me into reading this series; I've been downloading them from my library. There are about twelve in the series and each one has had a wait list. It's apparently quite popular! This is the third book and like the others it's dark and grisly. This one had some a dark topic but was engrossing nonetheless. It kept me up until about 4AM.
The dogs were going to be a problem.
Not the most gripping start but it did whet my curiosity, and rouse my concern for the dogs. They were not harmed.
I haven't seen this series before. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, you too!
DeleteI love this series! Can't wait for the new one to come out this summer. :)

DeleteI haven't read this series, but it does sound intriguing. I have to agree that the first line could have been something better.
ReplyDeleteKonna @ The Reading Armchair
Fortunately the rest of the book was better.
DeleteI own a good portion of this series but haven't started it yet. I am glad to hear that you have been enjoying it. I think I might have to dust off the first book soon and get started.
ReplyDeleteI do think you'd enjoy them though they are intense and probably shouldn't be binge read.
DeleteEep! I hope everyone ended up okay- but that's not usually the way in thrillers!!
