Another busy week at work. We said goodbye to some children who are leaving, some to kindergarten and a few to new preschools. I have a lead on a new car, my mechanic will look it over on Tuesday. So naturally, my current car got a flat on the way home from work Friday night. I had to wait for AAA to tow the car and then wait for a friend to come get me, but you know, it wasn't a bad night. I was in a shopping plaza waiting for AAA so I popped into the grocery store and got a sandwich, chips and drink for dinner while I waited for the truck. He drove to my auto place, left the car and I there, and I sat outside on a bench, talking with one friend on my cell phone while waiting for another friend to pick me up. The weather out was beautiful, dry air, comfortable temperature, and no mosquitos. It wasn't the worst way to spend an evening. But I hope this car I'm looking at pans out.

Thanks
for visiting and happy reading! :)
Good luck with the car! Sounds like you made the best of bad situation on Fri night. :) That Agatha Christie set looks awesome, that would look nice on a shelf. Like the cover Firefly hollow...
ReplyDeleteYou're kicking butt on the challenges too, especially COYER. I'm doing good with COYER (for me) but may try to step up a bit...
I'm doing well with COYER if you ignore the fact that I'm not doing any of the read-a-thons or scavenger hunts. I just don't have time for those. Good luck to you!
DeleteYou got some fantastic books this week. I hope you love all of them.

Thanks Grace!
DeleteHope you get the car problems figured out soon!! I am pretty excited to read "Even Vampires Get The Blues" Sandra Hill just has the best humor in her books.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read her before but I'm looking forward to it.
DeleteAwesome haul! I've not heard of these but I hope you enjoy them.

You got the Miss Marple set! :-) And I see a few Avon Addicts books in there. They're going to keep us busy, I think!
ReplyDeleteSorry about your car, but at least you had a relatively pleasant evening despite it. I hope things work out for the new one.
Have a wonderful week!
Good luck with the car!
ReplyDeleteAll those covers look so good! Enjoy your reading!

Everything She Forgot looks like a great read. Hope you enjoy and have a great upcoming week
ReplyDeleteSounds you like you made the best of a bad situation when your car broke down! Loving that Agatha Christie collection, I need that in my life :)
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for the new car. I sold my old car because it was costing us a lot of money.
ReplyDeleteLots of good looking books this week :) Hope you enjoy them
Have a great week, Bea! Happy Reading! ox
What an awful flat tire! Ugh. I am going to take a look at some of your reviews.
ReplyDeleteSchool starts early (ends late) in your area. You're in Boston right? Is it because of the super snow from last winter?
ReplyDeleteI hope you get the new car Bea... sounds like you need a little upgrade. At least you were able to catch up with a friend while waiting.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the new reads!

I saw that Sandra Hill book, Even Vampires Get the Blues and I thought about it but I wasn't sure if I needed to read any of the previous books. I'm trying to be better about that. But that guy on the cover is really talking to me :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the possible car!!!!!!
Glad the flat tire didn't turn it into a disaster of day. Oh, that Agatha Christie set is cool. Hope you enjoy your books!
