Always the Quiet Ones by CASSANDRA CARR

Blurb: King of the geeks Marty Johnston has a serious crush on his co-worker Elizabeth. The principal IT consultant wants more than just a flirtation, but guilt over a one-night-stand-but-maybe-more Marty had on his last business trip before meeting Elizabeth could cost him his big chance with the girl of his dreams. He’s comfortable dealing with computers, not people. Can he step way outside his comfort zone to sort things out, or will he lose the one he’s falling for?

Author bio

Cassandra Carr is a multi-award winning romance writer. When not writing she enjoys watching hockey and hanging out online. Cassandra's books have won numerous "Best Book Of" awards and her novella Unexpected Top was nominated in the E-book Erotic Romance category of RT's Reviewers' Choice Awards. She thinks the best part of being a writer is how she writes about love and sex while most others struggle with daily commutes, micro-managing bosses and cranky co-workers. Her inspiration comes from everywhere, but she'd particularly like to thank the Buffalo Sabres, the hockey team near and dear to her heart. Now that is one cute looking geek up there! A little young for me but darn cute, and look at that smile. He reminds me a bit of Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who played Harry Potter. I like that the cover isn't busy and there's a strong color contrast. What do you think?

Blurb from goodreads:

Bea's Thoughts:

I described this book recently as a geek erotic romance and it's a good description. Marty is a whiz at what does and he's passionate about computers but he's socially uncomfortable and his small talk tends to tech related matters. While traveling, he finally works up the nerve to approach a woman, a hotel employee, that he's been eying for a while. They get together, then he becomes involved with a co-worker, Elizabeth, and finds himself with a choice to make.

Marty may be a geek out of the bedroom but in the bedroom he's as good in bed as he is with computers and with an unexpected dominant streak. The contrast between shy, sometimes bumbling Marty and blow your mind stud Marty was well done and fun to see. Marty isn't a bad boy, he has a good heart and good manners, he just needs a little social coaching. The interactions between he and Shelby and he and Elizabeth were alternately sweet and hot. The sex was steamy and I like that the story ends on a HFN, not an HEA. I wish Marty had been a little better developed, and we could have seen more of what makes him geeky.

"Always the Quiet Ones" was a sweet and steamy romance. It's perfect for when you're short on time but want a complete story.

A quick warning: The story ends at 81% with the rest of the book devoted to the author and her other stories. As a result, the ending felt a bit abrupt since I was expecting the story to end at the 100% mark.

  1. This sounds like fun! I love the Geek Erotica idea and that Cass takes a guy who is a little socially awkward but actually makes him more than just a stereotypical geek! I'll have to check this one out!
