Book Blurb:

Who says a wolf can’t make a pussycat purr?

Perfect timing has never been Lilly Prescott’s long suit. Seconds before a showdown with werewolf Dante Morgan, who owns a property that by rights should belong to her, she goes into heat. Not a simple event for a lynx shifter. No, she’s doomed to weeks of frustration that can only be soothed by frequent rolls in the hay—or her hand. Unfortunately, Dante accidentally witnesses the latter.

Left shaken and highly aroused in the snow, Dante can’t believe he’s attracted to the woman who drives him crazy, and not in a good way. Worse, his father has issued an ultimatum. Marry, or abdicate his place as pack leader. On the other hand, it’s the perfect leverage. Lilly will get her land…in exchange for a wedding ring and all the sexual satisfaction she can handle.

Marry Dante? No doubt he’s a poster boy for Hunks ’R’ Us, but he’s rude, arrogant and Lilly’s sworn enemy. Not to mention the thought of losing her independence is frightening as hell.

When they find themselves falling victim to their own charade, though, it’s anything but hell. It’s heaven, and the last thing either of them wants. The real thing.

Teaser:
"I have a proposition for you."
"If it has anything to do with whipped cream and handcuffs, I'm not interested." Hoo boy. Was that ever a fat, hairy lie.
Dante's eyes darkened as he licked his lips. "Not what I originally had in mind, but now that you mention it..."
She stacked her arms over her chest-as much out of frustration as to hide the perky saluting of her traitorous nipples. "Could you please keep your dirty mind on track?"
"You're the one who brought up the whipped cream and handcuffs, kitten."
She narrowed her eyes. "What did you just call me?"
He chuckled. "Don't get your fur in a tizzy. I could have said pussy."
"You would," she grumbled.

My Thoughts:

The blurb pretty much tells the story; the fun is in getting there. "Cat Scratch Fever" is funny, sweet, sexy and steamy. There were a few times I found myself rolling my eyes or raising my eyebrows, but otherwise I really enjoyed it.

This scene had me going "WTF?"
Being shifters, they didn't have to worry about human STDs, so condoms were strictly to prevent pregnancy amongst their kinds. But an unpleasant allergy to latex made condoms out of the question for her. "I can do even better than that. I have an IUD."

So shifters can't get STDs but they have allergies? That doesn't make sense. Why not have Lilly use an IUD as a preference? Why make it a medical necessity? It's a minor matter overall.

The other eye rolling moment was this thought by Lilly:
Because right now, Dante and his wonder cock were too potent to resist.

It made me laugh even as I rolled my eyes. "Wonder cock"? Really? Sounds more like she's talking about a BOB.

I also thought that Anna's actions at the end of the story were a bit over the top but I was expecting her to do something. Those moments aside, I enjoyed the romance and the sex scenes. And the humor. There's lots of humor, but it doesn't overshadow the story or the characters. The story moves quickly, as does the romance. It's not quite a friends to lovers trope, but pretty close. Dante and Lilly have been acquainted for several years. When Dante proposes to Lilly, she's resistant at first but it offers her a solution to her land problem and after their mutual masturbation scenes, she finds herself attracted to Dante. To his surprise, he's attracted to Lilly.
"Maybe I was wrong about Lilly all these years." Had he been? Truthfully, he'd been all too willing to only see what he'd perceived to be her pain-in-the-ass qualities. And mostly that'd been due to his frustration over her determination to get him to sell the land. But was Lilly's dedication to the lynchats' cause any different than his commitment to his pack? Not really, when you got down to it.

Want a fun, sexy, quick read? Then you need to read "Cat Scratch Fever".

I received a Kindle book from the author for review.
