Friday Memes: No Stone Unturned by Andrea Kane

I'm participating in two Friday book memes, Book Beginnings On Fridays, hosted by Rose City Reader, and The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice.

Every Friday, share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.

For the Friday 56, grab a book, any book. Turn to Page 56, or 56% on your ereader. If you have to improvise, that's okay. Find a snippet, short and sweet. Post it, and add the url to your post at the link here.

I've been reading the Forensic Instincts series off and on for years. I jumped at the chance to read this one and enjoyed it.

Slowly, Rose Flaherty made her way over to the front window of her Greenwich Village antique shop, leaning heavily on her cane as she did.

Not the most enticing of openings, but we do form a picture of Rose from it.

The quote is from 56%  in the e-galley.

"This is fantastic," Emma said. "It's like living our very own Romancing the Stone."

Come back Monday for my review, a longer excerpt, and a giveaway of an Amazon.com gift card, and 5 winners will receive an ebook copy of the book.

What book are you embarking on? Please share in the comments.

    1. The antique shop is not that important to the story but antiques and treasures are. Thanks for visiting.

    1. Sorry, the shop itself is only peripherally important but antiques and treasures are paramount.

    1. It's been years since I've seen it but I liked it. It balanced romance, humor, and action, and played with stereotypes and cliches. Lots of fun.

  5. It's been a long time since I've read this author but this one sounds really good.
