Friday Memes: A Cold Trail by Robert Dugoni

I'm participating in two Friday book memes, Book Beginnings On Fridays, hosted by Rose City Reader, and The Friday 56, hosted by Freda's Voice.

A Cold Trail by Robert Dugoni is the newest book in the Tracy Crosswhite mystery series. My review will be up in a week or two.

Book Beginnings

Every Friday, share the first sentence (or so) of the book you are reading, along with your initial thoughts about the sentence, impressions of the book, or anything else the opener inspires. Please remember to include the title of the book and the author’s name.

Heather Johansen wiped her tears and the driving rain that blurred her vision and ran down her face. She walked the edge of the county road, with no street lamps or moonlight to guide her; the ink-black darkness rising from the asphalt beneath her feet to the heavy storm clouds gathered above the thick tree canopy in the North Cascades.

Friday 56 Rules:

*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to Page 56 or 56% on your ereader. If you have to improvise, that is okay.
*Find a snippet, short and sweet.
*Post it, and add the url to your post at the Link here.here

"Not for what he told us. But we didn't want him going and spreading unconfirmed rumors about Heather all over town."
"And you thought he was going to do that, spread rumors?"
"He told us he was going to do that."

What book are you embarking on? Please share in the comments.

  1. Heather could be walking down one of our roads right now. We've been having a massive rain storm. I'd love for you and your readers to check out mine! https://lisaksbookthoughts.blogspot.com/2020/02/its-cozy-food-friday-that-means-its.html

  2. Aw, man, we just got snow today (it's still snowing, as far as I know), and I'm all sorts of feeling this cover right now. xD The opening sounds dark and ominous, and I'm digging it. Hope you enjoy!

    Here's my Friday post.

  3. Why was he going to spread the rumors though? I'm intrigued. Happy weekend! Thank you for the wishes. Mom's recovering nicely!
