Blurb from goodreads:

Real estate mogul Micah Holt exerts absolute control over all aspects of his life. He keeps his dark side hidden away from the press, who will chase down any hint of scandal. He’s always in command of his world, careful to expose his closely guarded secrets only to those he knows he can trust. Then Allie Bennett shakes his legendary discipline. She’s beautiful, pure, untainted. But is Micah willing to sacrifice her innocence for his own selfish obsessions?

When that sexy smile makes her body burn, Allie tries with all her might to ignore it. For one thing, Micah’s her new boss. For another, he’s as complicated as he is devastatingly handsome. Still, Allie can only fight so much before she gives in to his dangerous games. She knows he’s got dark secrets. But when she discovers the true depth of his pain, Allie must decide how far she’s willing to go to light the way for love.

Steph's Thoughts:

I love the Club Sin series so when this one popped up on Netgalley, I snatched it. It just took me awhile to get to it because of some personal issues in my life.

It did take me a little bit to get into this story because it is a new series so I had to get used to the characters. Once I was in, I was hooked. I finished this book in a few hours. Unlike the Club Sin series, you are never in a BDSM club in this story but that doesn’t mean the smexy scenes are any less sexy or hot.

The sexual tension between Micah and Allie is instant and undeniable. I loved them as a couple. She really keeps him on his toes. This is what I love about Stacey Kennedy’s BDSM books. The heroines are only submissive in the bedroom. They have lots of sass and are independent women. For me, this is awesome. I hate heroines that let the men walk all over them.

Allie has no clue that Micah is a Dom or is into kink. There is some kink even in their "vanilla" sex but it is nothing like other books I have read. Yes, they have drama and baggage but it isn't all that bad. Micah is a very gentle Dom and probably what most of us would really want if we decided to experiment.

The BDSM is very light in this book. Much lighter than in the Club Sin books but the sex is still hot and you will not be disappointed. This book is a great starter for the new series and a good starter for someone who thinks they might like to read some BDSM but is afraid of getting some hardcore stuff. I loved this book once I got into it and adjusted myself to it not being the other series. This is always an issue for me when reading a new series by a favorite author. I immediately went and started book two.

  1. glad that you were able to get into it and enjoy it :D I guess even thought it's a new series, but from the author you trust gave it a sort of an upper hand anyway
