This week's quote is from the fabulous Kelley Armstrong. "Hidden" is a novella set in her Women of the Otherworld series. In this scene, Clay, his mate Elena and their kids, Kate and Logan, are talking about Clay's school days. Clay wasn't the best student. :D

"Isn't that the one Dad got kicked out of?"
Clay choked on a s'more.
"Where did you hear that?" I asked.
"Uncle Nick. He was talking to Reese. He said Daddy got kicked out of kindergarten."
"For cutting up the guinea pig!" Kate said, giggling from Clay's lap.
"Dissecting." Logan gave her a stern look. "That's different. It was already dead."
Clay put his arm around Logan's shoulders. "Exactly what I said."

I admit, it took a while for Clay to grow on me but this story always makes me chuckle.

  1. Bwaha. I loved Clay from the very start. Elena was the one that had to grow on me but not Clay. Scary mass of man that he is. I still need to get back and finish that series. I'm at book 8 I think.

    1. Yes, keep reading! Elena can be whiny at times but Clay I just found obnoxious. He grew on me. :D

  2. I love that story, in all its incarnations. I love imagining Clay as a child flying into to tell the Pack that 'it was already' dead, and the look on his face when the twins asked about it. Even the idea of Nick chortling as he tells Reese. LMAO It's just a fabulous piece of Pack history that keeps popping up. Great Quote.

    1. I do too. Imagining the facial expressions is a treat and Nick telling the story? That would be hilarious. It's a great little detail about Clay and the Pack. :)

  6. The evolution of Clay and Elena has been nothing short of amazing. Clay went from being the guy I tolerated because he loved Elena to this amazingly complex character that I keep learning new sides to.
