In My Mailbox #4

In My Mailbox was started by The Story Siren. It's a way to share and highlight all the books we receive, even if we don't review them. l share books that I buy, that I receive for review, get from the library, borrow from a friend, etc.

Purchased

I enjoy this series. Despite a number of cliches, it's fun, and Secret, the lead, is a hoot.

Kindle Freebies

I'm starting a yoga class later this fall and I thought this might be a good complement. The cookbook, well, I don't cook much from scratch but it looked interesting and the recipes seem easy enough for me. I downloaded more freebies but decided that I need to be more discriminating about listing them all, it was getting absurd.

Won

Both of these I won via Twitter giveaways. Cleopatra, a rather large trade paperback, I received from the publisher and The Rake and The Recluse is a Kindle book that I won from the author.

Received for Review

See those urban fantasy books? I didn't request a single one, the publisher sent them unsolicited (only the second time that has happened). It felt like my birthday. They all look interesting but with one exception, Dead Mann Walking, they are part of a series and I haven't read the other books in the various series' yet. So, I'm not sure when I'll get around to reading them or reviewing them as I'd prefer to read the prior books first. Dead Mann Walking is the first in a new series so that I can do any time. The other books were all books I agreed to review. In fact, I already reviewed Targets of Opportunity.

So, what interesting books did you get this week?

  2. I've been wanting to read the Holzner series but hadn't gotten around to it. Now that I actually have one of the books, I'll move it higher up the list.
