Spin the Globe: The Incredible Adventures of Frederick von Wigglebottom is a fact-based and educational book series based on bedtime stories I told my daughter and son. Each night they would ask Daddy to tell them a story. After exhausting every variation of bunny, frog, knight, and princess stories I could come up with, one evening I took notice of the globe that sat atop their dresser. I asked them to help me with a story topic and had them spin the globe! They would use their finger to stop the globe, and wherever their finger landed, I had to tell them an impromptu story about that particular country or area. This particular story of the series takes place in the city of Trondheim on the coast of Norway. Frederick meets Nikolina, a girl of Viking heritage, and Erik, a Sami boy who teaches him about this area of Scandinavia in the Land of the Midnight Sun.

"Gripping, mystical and adventurous, young readers will be as hooked as Maddy was the minute she set foot inside that creepy as hell old castle," raved Irish World said of The Feral Child.
Maddy's adventures continue in The Unicorn Hunter. The adults of Blarney have always lived in fear. The faeries of Tir na nOg exist on their doorstep, and they could unleash terror on the mortal realm at any time.
But eleven-year-old Maddy is not afraid. The unicorn that holds the key to balance and peace in both worlds is injured, and Maddy knows she is the only one who can track down whoever hurt her.
Can Maddy survive the force and cunning of the Tuatha, who rule Tir na nOg? Or will she end up a mere pawn in their own power games?
Readers will enjoy the frank and bold heroine of Maddy, and will be dazzled by The Unicorn Hunter's evocative rendering of Irish folklore and richly imagined alternate worlds.

Cat Thursday - How Many Do You Have?

You can join in by posting a favorite LOL cat pic you made or came across, cat art or share with us pics of your own felines, then post your link up at The True Book Addict.

I'm sure many of us have had people walk in and comment that it smells like cats or maybe they spot some cat paraphernalia and they ask, "How many do you have?" But how often does this happen I wonder? :D

20 Questions with the Ladies of Bea's Book Nook!

Many thanks to Jennifer at the Bookshelfery for tagging us in her 20 questions post. It's a fun way to get to know a blogger better, or in this case, three bloggers. :)

1. HOW TALL ARE YOU?
Steph: 5'3"
Bea: 5'6"
Laura: 5'6" - 5'7"

2. DO YOU HAVE A HIDDEN TALENT? IF SO, WHAT?
Steph: I can pack a car for vacation with everything including the kitchen sink
Bea: I can get a toddler or preschoooler to sleep with just a look.
Laura: If I tell you, then how is it hidden? Oh, alright. I'm fairly handy with yarn and thread. Not really a secret, but it's my talent.

3. WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST BLOG-RELATED PET PEEVE?
Steph: Rafflecopter contests with a billion things in them.
Bea: Oh, that one gets me too Steph. A blog that's hard to read or navigate will keep em from coming back.
Laura: Expanding ads that cover something I'm reading.

Bon Appétit and a Book - Giveaway, Recipes, and Romance with Authors Andrea Laurence & Abby Green

It's winter where I am and cold. Cocoa and comfort food are my staples (I have a mug of cocoa as I'm typing this). When the opportunity arose to have a couple of Harlequin's authors provide some yummy recipes I happily said yes. Now, I'm not much for cooking. I like it simple; the microwave and toaster oven are two of my favorite kitchen appliances. But I enjoy looking at recipes, these look delicious, and I think I'll share the chili recipe with my sisters; they like chili and they actually LIKE to cook. Weirdos. :P

Originally, I thought I'd do a separate post but these two recipes seem like a good combo so I decided to put them into one post. After the recipes, you'll find info on the books and authors, and a giveaway.

Her destiny is etched in his skin…and carved in her heart.

Order of the Wolf, Book 3

Morgan Stills is a woman without a future. At least, that’s what the carnival psychic tells her. Love is foretold as well, but too bad. She’s already been marked for death.

She no sooner flees the psychic’s tent when she’s confronted by the biggest wolf she’s ever seen. A wolf that talks to her—right before she’s enveloped in a black cloak and dragged away.

Caleb was born for one purpose: follow the burning of his tattoo to find and protect his destined mate, the Huntress. When he rescues her from Lazarus, the king of beasts, what thanks does he get? A swift kick in his tender parts that leaves him writhing in a ball of pain.

Morgan quickly realizes her destiny lies with the Order of the Wolf. The only catch—she must choose between two sworn enemies who vie for her body, heart, and soul. Marked as a Huntress, thrust into an ancient feud between werewolf and Hunter, she must pick up a sword or die. And somehow learn to live without the man she is destined to kill.

Warning: Be prepared for fiery hot, melt-your-panties men, all muscle and sinew, searching for their one true mate. Committed, hot, and horny. What could be better?
