Spotlight on Betrayed: Powerful Stories of Kick-Ass Crime Survivors; Profits Are Donated to Help Domestic Violence Survivors

Betrayed: Powerful Stories of Kick-Ass Crime Survivors

22 Crime Thrillers by bestselling, award-winning, and critically acclaimed authors!

What happens when the person you trust the most betrays you? That’s the question posed in Betrayed, a powerful collection of stories about love, violence, and survival. The characters in these pages may suffer and bleed, but they fight back. They are survivors — not victims.

In Terri Lynn Coop’s Legal Aid, an overworked lawyer takes on a complex divorce case that just may get her fired ... or killed.

An invalid who believes his neighbor is tormenting his young wife takes matters into his own hands in Wendy Tyson’s Soap.

When a private investigator is hired to find someone who appears to have disappeared from the face of the earth, he questions whether some people should be found in How Not to Find Someone in Houston by Liam Sweeney.

And in Elizabeth Heiter’s The Second Shot a teenage girl is convicted of murdering her abusive father ... but is she really guilty?

As a bonus, New York Times bestseller Allison Brennan contributed the novella, Mirror, Mirror, about what happens when a police detective suspects her sister is hiding a dark secret ... a secret that just may get them both killed.

These stories and more fill the pages of the first anthology published by Authors on the Air. Victims become victors and – hopefully – justice is served.

Every author has donated their time and stories. Profits from this anthology are being donated to programs and organizations that help victims of domestic violence reclaim their lives.

EXCERPT & SPOTLIGHT: The Executive Decisions Boxed Set by Grace Marshall

A few years ago Ms.Marshall wrote a guest post and shared an excerpt from her book, "Identity Crisis", which is part of her new box set, "The Executive Decision". That post just happens to be my number one most popular post ever. Today I'm delighted to share an excerpt  from "The Exhibition", also part of "The Executive Decision".

Voted ETO Best Erotic Author of 2014, and a proud member of The Brit Babes, K D Grace believes Freud was right. In the end, it really IS all about sex, well sex and love. And nobody’s happier about that than she is, otherwise, what would she write about?

Bon Appétit and a Book - Giveaway, Recipes, and Romance with Authors Andrea Laurence & Abby Green

It's winter where I am and cold. Cocoa and comfort food are my staples (I have a mug of cocoa as I'm typing this). When the opportunity arose to have a couple of Harlequin's authors provide some yummy recipes I happily said yes. Now, I'm not much for cooking. I like it simple; the microwave and toaster oven are two of my favorite kitchen appliances. But I enjoy looking at recipes, these look delicious, and I think I'll share the chili recipe with my sisters; they like chili and they actually LIKE to cook. Weirdos. :P

Originally, I thought I'd do a separate post but these two recipes seem like a good combo so I decided to put them into one post. After the recipes, you'll find info on the books and authors, and a giveaway.

SPOTLIGHT & EXCERPT: A Bluestocking's Christmas & Other Historical Romances by Lindsay Downs

Historical romances aren't my usual read but I know some of you are fans and the author of the books I'm spotlighting today is using some of his book proceeds to help a couple of authors who are battling cancer. Since fighting cancer is something I'm always help to with, I offered to host him and his books on the Nook. I met Lindsay through Astraea Press when I was an editor there and worked on one of his contemporary novels, "Emily Dahill CID Part Two".

Two AP authors are dealing with cancer currently. To assist them and their families during this difficult time Lindsay will give one of them the royalties for November from the sale of his Christmas regency, "A Bluestocking’s Christmas". The other will be given the royalties from his three self-published books; "The Masked Lady and The Murder", "The Guilty Countess" and "The Earl’s Spitfire".  He will be giving them the money, not donating it to a fund they might have set up.

SPOTLIGHT: Home for Christmas by Jessica Scott and JoAnn Ross

WOO HOO! It's party time! Today is the release day for a new duet, "Home for Christmas" containing stories by Jessica Scott and JoAnn Ross. They each contributed a novella. Jessica is one of my very favorite authors and possibly the best contemporary romance writer on the market. I'm not familiar with Ms Ross's works but if Jessica likes her, I'll give her a try. :)

Jessica Scott is a career army officer, mother of two daughters, three cats and three dogs, wife to a career NCO and wrangler of all things stuffed and fluffy. She is a terrible cook and even worse housekeeper, but she's a pretty good shot with her assigned weapon and someone liked some of the stuff she wrote. Somehow, her children are pretty well adjusted and her husband still loves her, despite burned water and a messy house.

SPOTLIGHT & EXCERPT: Gideon Lee by Lisa Orchard

Hello! Today I have an excerpt from a contemporary young adult, "Gideon Lee", by Lisa Orchard; it releases this Tuesday from Eskape Press.

Lisa Orchard grew up loving books. Hooked on mysteries by the fifth grade, she even wrote a few of her own. She knew she wanted to be a writer even then. Her first series, “The Super Spies,” has reached bestseller status

After graduating from Central Michigan University with a Marketing Degree, she spent many years in the insurance industry, pining to express her creative side. The decision to stay home with her children gave her the opportunity to follow her dream and become a writer. She currently resides in Rockford Michigan with her husband, Steve, and two wonderful boys. Currently, she’s working on a Coming of Age Young Adult series called The Starlight Chronicles. When she’s not writing she enjoys spending time with her family, running, hiking, and reading.
