Review

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS BOOK. I am practically delirious with joy at receiving an e-galley for review. Ashfall was a very good book and the author, Mike Mullin, is a wonderful person.

This is part of a blog tour. In addition to reviewing it, I'll be posting an excerpt as part of a scavenger hunt on July 17th.

While I got some excellent books this week, the week as a whole was rotten, with the highlight being two infected teeth and the absolute worst was the death of a co-worker and friend. I hope you all had a better week than I did.

I spent some time this past week updating my TBR shelf on goodreads: I deleted books that I couldn't remember why I wanted to read them, added new books, pruned some duplicates, and found books that I had read and moved them to the read shelf. With all of that activity, the number of books on my TBR shelf went from 469 to 472, which in no way reflects the quantity of books that I actually added, lol.

Random House Kids did a giveaway on Twitter for this book and I was one of the lucky winners. I took this to school; one of my classes is very into dress-ups right now so this is perfect for them. They loved it and wanted to know how long it would stay at school. I told them it would stay for as long as they were happy to read it.

I got an egalley of this book last summer and really enjoyed it (my review) but only got around to buying a hardcover when the author, Mike Mullin, came to my area for an appearance. It's now signed. :)

This was originally released as part of an anthology and Kelley just released it as a single ebook. I pre-ordered it months ago and it finally downloaded this past week.

 I've loved Cary Grant for years, I couldn't pass this up.

Another book I had to have. I'm a longtime Seuss fan and this is a collection of stories printed in magazines back in the early fifties and then forgotten about. It will be well used in my classroom.
