Blurb from goodreads:

There’s no such thing as a little in love…

Elle Wheaten’s priorities: friends, career, and kick-ass shoes. Then there’s the muscular wall of stubbornness that’s security expert Archer Hunt—who comes before everything else. No point in telling Mr. “Feels-Free Zone” that, though. Elle will just see other men until she gets over Archer . . . which should only take a lifetime . . .

There’s no such thing as a little in lust…

Archer’s wanted the best for Elle ever since he sacrificed his law-enforcement career to save her. But now that she’s earned happiness and success, Archer just wants Elle 24/7. Their chemistry could start the next San Francisco Earthquake, and Archer doesn’t want to be responsible for the damage. The alternative? Watch her go out with guys who aren’t him . . .

There is such a thing as…

As far as Archer’s concerned, nobody is good enough for Elle. But when he sets out to prove it by sabotaging her dates, she gets mad—and things get hot as hell. Now Archer has a new mission: prove to Elle that her perfect man has been here all along.

My Thoughts:

Oooo, I've been waiting for this one since the first book in this series. The sparks have been flying, setting little fires here and there and in this book, the fire would not be denied. Elle and Archer are both stubborn and both quite blind about their feelings for each other as well as being blind to their reasons for avoiding each other. So. Much. Blindness. :D Elle and Archer have history, and it's one they keep tripping over; it takes them a long time to get past it. When Elle decides it's time to move on, that she won't waste any more time waiting for Archer to get off his butt and see her as a woman, Archer can't stand it. He can't stand that she is dating other guys and gets a little nuts about interrupting her dates.

It isn't long before they collide and ooo boy, Shalvis turns up the heat. Archer and Elle get under each other's skin. Archer is calm, cool, collected; except when it comes to Elle. She isn't afraid of him, she she holds her own in their verbal sparring, and she makes him lose control. Elle is strong, smart-tongued, fiercely loyal, and independent. She resists Archer's attempts to care for her and protect her. She wants him to see her as strong and capable, not as someone who needs looking after. And no matter how hard they try, they just can't keep their hands off of each other.

Archer and Elle get closer both physically and emotionally and it's hard on both of them to open up and trust the other. Add in familial complications for both of them, and emotions are running high.

"Accidentally on Purpose" is full of heat, passion, steamy sex, delicious flirting, tight and witty dialogue, humor, and the incredibly rich and complex friendships we've seen throughout this series. It was a delight to read.

  1. Accidentally on Purpose was sexy, snarky, sweet and even has a touch of suspense. If you've read and loved Jill Shalvis before you won't be disappointed. If you haven't, this would be a great series to start with.
