Sunday Book Share #149

http://www.talksupeblog.com/search/label/Bought%20Borrowed%20and%20Bagged

I'm participating in The Sunday Post, hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer; Showcase Sunday hosted by Books, Biscuits and Tea; Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga's Reviews; and Bought Borrowed and Bagged, hosted by TalkSupe. All of these memes are about sharing the print and digital books received and/or posts and events on the blog.

Man, I am tired. I worked over 40 hours at school last week, finished an editing job, and did my freelance assistant work. Then Saturday, a friend and I drove 12 hours round trip (that includes stopping for gas and lunch) to pick up two shelter cats she adopted. They came up from Virginia, we met in New Jersey, and drove back to Massachusetts. Now it's Saturday night and I've got a load of laundry and a load of dishes running as I type this up. I still have to clean the litterbox and take out the trash. Sunday I have to remember to call my stepmother and wish her a happy birthday.

The good news is, I think I'm coming out of the funk I've been in the past few weeks. I'm feeling more energetic and more ambitious, so that's good. I also got a very good end-of-year review at the teaching job. :) Overall a good, if tiring, week.

The Week In Review

Odd, interesting, or funny search phrases leading to the blog:  "cat worship", "quotes about sloppy kisses", and "facebook bea herding". I assume that last one was someone confusing my blog with Herding Cats and Burning Soup. :D

  1. 12 hours! That's a trip... no wonder you're tired. I got a kick out of your cat post, and the book set in Crete looks good. Curious how that one turns out. And Jules Verne- I've never read. Hope it's fun.

    Have an awesome weekend!

    1. The Crete book is both interesting and a little dull and boy is ti a different culture. I am taking a short break from it and then I'll go back.

  2. I know what you mean by 40 hours plus the traveling!! I would be totally exhausted. Traveling long distances or really any distance can be tiring.

    1. It is, even when you're just sitting. But the trip was worth it.

  3. What a trip! I'm not surprised you are exhausted between that and all the other things you have going on. But I'm glad to hear you ended the week feeling more energetic and more ambitious, that is great! And I'm like you, a little praise just boosts me right up.

  7. Tiring but good weeks are good for the soul. I have no idea if that's true, but it sounded good in my head. lol I am also tired. Man, who knew setting up an apartment from scratch requires so much crap. I will never complain about my age again. lol Have a wonderful week, Bea! And if there's ever a herding Bea event on FB I want involved. ;)

  11. Glad you're feeling better Bea - it sounds like the busy week gave you a bit of a shake up, even though you're really tired. I'm sometimes more productive when I'm busier!

  12. Bea, that is such a good thing you and your friend did for those kitties. [doffs hat] My hat is off to you. And hurray for starting to come out of the funk; I'm sure it was no fun at all to be in. And hurray times three for the good job review! (Well deserved, I have no doubt.)

Nice books this week! I looked at the Nora Roberts but decided the boxfull of paperbacks in the basement - probably 25 of her books - was enough. ;-) And the only reason I didn't download Around the World in 80 Days is that I've already listened to a different recording (with Jim Dale, which was great!) Anyway, enjoy all your new books and have a great week!

  18. I am so glad you are coming out of the funk. I am barely keeping my head above water here with summer and kids, I am looking forward to the routine and the quiet in the fall. You got some great reads. I am really needing to try some Sandra Brown, I just got approved for the Candy Corn book, I am on a bit of a cozy mystery jaunt right now. I actually really liked Killer Jam, grab it.

  20. It's great that you got a great review for your work at the end of the year, Bea :) That must help you to feel like your vacation will be even better ;)
Your new books look great, I haven't read any Jules Verne in a long time, but I remember enjoying those I've read.
    Happy reading.
