Welcome to the first Friday 56 of the new year. I missed a few towards the end of 2014 thanks to the holidays. The book I'm reading now I started at the end of December and I'm still working on it. "Heart of Stone" is a paranormal romance by Christine Warren. The quote is from 56%  in the eGalley. I've had this sitting on my TBR pile for a year, collecting dust on my Kindle so I'm reading it as part of COYER.

"He's a lot more important to this whole thing than I am. That feels like an unacceptable risk to me."

  1. Of course, now I want to know who 'he' is and why he's so important. Good snippet.

    1. I haven't read that far yet so I'm curious too, though I have an idea.

  2. Interesting snippet. I've read a few books by Christine Warren and enjoyed them. I am quite sure I have a few more on my TBR mountain too. Happy reading!

  6. The narrator sounds very matter of fact about whoever he is being more important. Definitely makes me curious!

  7. I'm wondering: who is "he" and what's "the whole thing?" I hope you're enjoying this story. It sounds like a good one.

  11. I have to admit that I am the person that will stay away from that book solely based on the cover. It's funny but my New Years resolution is to be more open minded about the books that I read.
