Sunday Book Share #93

http://www.talksupeblog.com/search/label/Bought%20Borrowed%20and%20Bagged

I'm participating in The Sunday Post, hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer; Showcase Sunday hosted by Books, Biscuits and Tea; Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga's Reviews; Bought Borrowed and Bagged, hosted by TalkSupe; and Library Loot co-hosted by The Captive Reader and Silly Little Mischief. All of these memes are about sharing the print and digital books received and/or posts and events on the blog.

The week was going well until my asthma flared. Recovery, as always, is slow. I added a few books to my TBR pile and my wishlist grew. :D I did put in a request for a book due out in the fall that I am excited about. The editor said yes and I was bouncing off the walls. I won't receive my copy for a while but the precious will be mine, oh yes it will. :D

For 99 cents, I got three novels and two new short stories in one omnibus. I have the individual ebooks but extra copies never hurt and for the price, how could I resist?

Last week, I put myself on a ban for review books and freebies. BUT, I requested this book several weeks ago. I'm reviewing it for Romance at Random and later I'll post it here.

  1. LOL, must have the precious! Sorry to hear about the asthma, hope you feel better soon. My mom and sister both have asthma and they both have trouble with it- no fun.

Nickel and Dimed looks good, and I've always liked Charles Vess' artwork so I bet the Book of Ballads is very nice.

I got a book at BEA that I wasn't expecting and when I walked away I was hugging it and even kissed it I was so excited. The people at Disney Hyperion must have thought I was insane but it was MINE!!! So I totally know what you mean :)

  12. Oh, it looks like a good week...except for the asthma. I haven't had a flare up in a while...the medications seem to be keeping it under control...knock wood! But I remember the time before they found the right combination of meds...it was grueling. Hope yours settles down.

Your new books look very tempting. Enjoy!

I hope you feel better soon! I think with the pollen being as bad as it is this year it's great you made it this long, right? Hopefully a good soaking will come your way and help get all the nonsense out of the air and maybe help you out o.O

  22. Sorry to hear about the asthma - as someone who's been lucky to not have anything like that seeing someone suffer with an attack is always so scary for me! I hope you get to feeling better soon :) And congrats on the ARC, that's super exciting! I need to get up the nerves to ask publishers for books every now and again...

  28. Sorry to hear about your asthma, Bea. I hope you're doing better now. (Also sorry I'm so late checking in with you - it's been a really hectic week with family visiting, and also limited internet access while we're away.)

I'm impressed that you've been able to implement a review-and-freebie-books moratorium. I need to do that, but I don't seem to have the willpower! ;-) The Book of Ballads looks very tempting - I think I'll see if I can find a copy at my library.

    1. (Whoops, hit enter before I intended to.) I meant to add, I listen to and sing a lot of British folk songs, so some of the songs used -- The False Knight on the Road, Thomas the Rhymer, Twa Corbies -- are quite familiar to me.
