Sunday Book Share #78

I'm participating in The Sunday Post, hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer; Showcase Sunday hosted by Books, Biscuits and Tea; Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga's Reviews, and Library Loot co-hosted by The Captive Reader and Silly Little Mischief that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. All of these memes give book bloggers the chance to share print and digital books they've received, and posts and events at their blogs.

Last week was a mix of stressful and good. The good - my wrist and asthma flare are much improved, no significant snow, my family is doing well, and I received a surprise package from a PR firm I work with; the bad - I was in a minor car accident, an acquaintance died of a heart attack and she was only 30!, and health insurance problems. Also, another snow storm coming tomorrow. :(
It was a busy week on the blog last week, take a look!

Odd, interesting, or funny search phrases leading to the blog: Some new ones - "oscar bingo 2014", "meme cat food bread", "reasons for banning slaughterhouse", "astraea press submissions", "book where turtle saves duckling", and "city of mirrors", plus the usual "how to catch a cat" and "threesomes".

A friend sent me this after I told her how much I enjoyed book two; this is book one in the series. I'm continuing my habit of not starting at the beginning. :D

  4. I also have Turned by Virna dePaul on my for-review list :) I already started reading it and it's mysterious and compelling enough that I will definitely be reading and reviewing it. :)

  5. So sorry about your acquaintance - these things are usually inherited problems. Hope you are ok! Book wise, I've seen The Housewife Assassin's Handbook somewhere else and thought it sounds like a fun read. Breeding Ground could interest me as well.
Have a great week and Happy Reading!

I'm sorry about all the craziness of your life last week - at least there was good to balance the bad!

Hope this week is quieter for you!!! My Sunday Post

You must be close to me since we are also getting a snow storm today not to bad but it's enough to be a pain in the neck for the morning drive to work!

    Great Haul!

  13. What an awesome haul you got this week, Bea! I love the Whiskey Creek series, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do.

The Here and Now looks awesome :) I need to check that one out ;) I have enjoyed a thriller/suspense series by Maggie Shayne, but the one you have is new to me.

I hope you'll get your health insurance trouble sorted out. And how shocking about your acquaintance! *hugs*

Thanks for stopping by earlier. Happy reading.

  16. The Molly Harper book looks great. I just grabbed the Brenda Novak freebie I have wanted to try that author. Sorry to hear about your friend, that is tough. Snow just needs to go away!

  18. Hey, Bea. Looks like you've had wonderful week.

  19. I'm so sorry to hear about your acquaintance.

We're expecting snow tonight or tomorrow, too, but I'm hoping it passes us by. They've already lowered the snow accumulation predictions for here. We went from a foot and a half to three inches, so I'm really not sure what's coming our way. LOL

I have Organized for Murder for review, too, and that looks really good. All the books on your list look good. Enjoy!
