Interview with Bella Andre

New York Times and USA TODAY best-selling author Bella Andre first self-published her series, The Sullivans, and then it was picked up by Harlequin. The books have been re-edited and contain new material. Meryl L. Moss has teamed up with Harlequin and Bella Andre to celebrate the print release of the first three books in her sizzling The Sullivans series THE LOOK OF LOVE (June 2013), FROM THIS MOMENT ON (July 2013) and CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE (August 2013) with a blog tour!

You can read my review of book one, THE LOOK OF LOVE, here. I'll also be reviewing the next two books this summer so stop back to check out my reviews. In the meantime, here's a brief Q&A with Bella herself.

Find Bella Online:

All the titles in your Sullivan series are famous song titles. How did you pick which song would go with each book?

Bella: I'm constantly searching for songs that will be a perfect fit for my Sullivan books and keep a long list of possible song titles. For each book, the title has to have not only the exact right emotional feel for the story, but it has to fit with the love story. THE LOOK OF LOVE is perfect for Chase and Chloe, because no one has ever looked at her the way he does. In FROM THIS MOMENT ON, all it takes is one moment for Marcus and Nicola to find their destiny. And in CAN'T HELP FALLING IN LOVE, despite all their good reasons to stay away from each other, Gabe and Megan can't help falling deeper in love.

Who is your favorite singer?

Bella: I have always loved Joni Mitchell. All of the great artists from that era – James Taylor, CSN and Fleetwood Mac to name a few – wrote truly amazing songs. In that past several years, however, I've become quite a fan of pop music, particularly by artists such as Taylor Swift, Imogen Heap and Colbie Caillat.

What do you like to listen to?

Bella: I currently have about three hundred songs on my writing play-list (the songs I will listen to over and over as I write). Here is a random sampling of those songs:

Owl City “Fireflies”

Joshua Radin “Only You”

Avril Lavigne “Wish You Were Here”

Michael Halaas “Black Point”

One Republic “If I Lose Myself”

Jesse McCartney “Beautiful Soul”

Is the Sullivan family’s winery inspired by one of your favorite wineries in Napa?

Bella: I've lived in the Northern California wine country for fifteen years. Marcus Sullivan's winery is all of my favorite wineries put together into one with gorgeous rolling vines, views to forever, a Tuscan inspired estate with an infinity pool, and a well appointed guest house. Honestly, it's so beautiful where I live that I haven't exaggerated at all in the books.

What influenced you to write romance novels?

Bella: I'm a lifelong romance reader, devouring up to a book a day when I can! Romance is my favorite genre to read and it was a natural fit to write it, as well. I absolutely love to both read and write stories about two people falling in love.

  3. Great interview! It's nice to find an author who loves music I actually recognize. ;) I started reading Bella Andre ages ago and got my mom hooked on her. When I got the email yesterday that the newest Sullivan ebook was out, I called my mom and she shrieked my ear off.
