Spooktacular Book Blog Giveaway Hop

     Welcome to the 2010 Spooktacular Giveaway and Book Blog. Thanks to Kathy at I Am A Reader, Not A Writer for coming up with this and for setting it up.

     At the bottom of this post, you will find a link to take you to the next participating blog. Each blog is offering a giveaway of some sort that is related to Halloween. Using the link on each blog, you can travel or "hop" around from blog to blog, visiting old friends and discovering new ones. The giveaway and hop run from October 25th at 12:01 AM EST to October 31st at 11:59 pm EST. You can enter as many as the giveaways as you want.

     I will be giving away two horror-themed books. There will be two winners, one for each book; as long as you live in a country where 
The Book Depository ships, then you can enter this giveaway.


     I admit, I'm not a big horror fan. I avoid horror movies, and rarely pick up books labeled or advertised as horror. But, over the years, I have read some, and have even enjoyed a few. So, I'm offering some of my favorites as prizes and the winners will each choose one from this list; all editions will be paperback only.

     The choices are: "Feed" by Mira Grant; "Bitten" by Kelley Armstrong (book #1 in the Women of the Otherworld series) , "The Dead Zone" by Stephen King, or "Bloody Bones" by Laurell K Hamilton (part of the Anita Blake series, book #5), or "The Rising" by Brian Keene.

     Now, how do you enter? Simple. :) First, and most importantly, reply to this post (make sure you include a way for me to contact you), and briefly tell me of something that you find horrifying or terrifying. It can be anything at all, and you don't need to give a lot of detail. For instance, I am utterly terrified of being burnt. I've had second degree sunburns, mainly on my chest and back. I think if I ever had third degree burns, regardless of their cause, I would not be able to cope. I can not even read, or watch on the screen, about someone being burned.

     Additionally, you can gain extra entries by tweeting this post, following me on Twitter, or following the blog. If you already follow me, be sure to mention that in your post. For tweeting and re-tweeting, make sure you include my user name, @BeaCharmed, or it won't count. Also, it doesn't matter how many times you tweet or RT, you just get one entry. At the end of the giveaway period, I will use random.org to choose the two winners. I will notify the winners and they will have 48 hours to contact me with their info (including mailing addy) or I draw new winners.
